PSP Nexcellence is a rich-sounding, spring emulation inspired by and modeled after “Necklace-type” reverb units. It provides two different spring set processors and can use one or both of its processing engines simultaneously. The algorithm has improved on the original hardware by providing a handy set of parameters to let you control inherent aspects of the spring reverb.
...but got this as well because it's such a different, unique flavor. SpringBox is much cleaner and more hi-fi sounding. Nexcellence feels like the springs are thicker and the decay is more discreet and less washed out. Very cool sound! I did a quick comparison with muted electric guitar strums from Rob Papen RG... first...
shit! yeah.. looking now they've deemed 10+ plug ins as "legacy" though replaced a couple of them with new plug ins doing same tasks. bummer. i didn't realize it was so many.. thought it was only a couple still.. i hope for N20 v2 or similar. the updates to the delays are really good though and...
...satisfying Others like AR Plates, Vintage Verb, Little Plate and Arturia 140 don't get much run anymore. So many others (Plexitape, Nexcellence, VREV-305, Space Station, Farm Stone, Vertiverb) are great but way more niche in use. Sound City is a great for "room" sound. Hitsville has charm but I typically like others more.
