...get visually. PS- Thanks participhant for the details on that Ion thing. Somehow I had always assumed it was a modded SR-16 with trigger ins, rather than just a lo-tech jumper cable and separate box. Wish my SR had that headphone out, but I think that got added to the Alesis branded ones as well.

oh yeah. you know, i hadn't noticed. never bothered with the footswitch or pattern step inputs either. there was a 2nd generation of SR16s, i think. it's a short MIDI cable btw. the Yamaha QY/RM1x have 480ppqn. you can really abuse that with the RM1x, messing around with the MIDI parameter knobs.
