Description

Whole Console Emulation
Strip is the unique plugin (we know of) which emulates a whole, unique system (a console) through all its instances working together in background. Each instance actually affects the sum, its sound depends on the other ones and on the overall mix, optional cross-talk takes place from one instance to all the other ones sharing a "desk".

Console Modeling
Vintage Rock console with new transformer modeling and an Emphasis model for deeper low range. (New Transparent mode coming, if you need just the tools).

Equaliser with Dynamic option
The three bands EQ is included as a mix-balancing tool.
Broad peaks boost or cut frequency ranges to manage the overall color of the track in the mix. The optional "Dynamic" mode controls EQ action with more emphasis on peaks and more transparency on decay and sustain, for more transparent and musical results.

Multi-mode Compressor
The on-board compressor is a simple tool for overall mix dynamics and sound shaping. With just a few controls, it is simple and extremely versatile.
Its couple of sidechain filters shape the action. Old optional mode replaces the detection chain and sidechain filters with smoother ones which react depending on the incoming frequency (e.g. Opto compressors). Default compression mode has a sharp knee and a rather slow attack time, focused on adding snap. The overshoot can be controlled by gain staging, thanks to internal saturation. The optional Soft mode sets a fast attack (limiter) and a huge knee, for a more transparent action and added sustain.

Expander
With just two controls, the on-board Expander is able to shape the sound from subtle action to extreme effect like adding sustain with extreme upward compression. Extremely useful on drums.

Inter-channel Ducking Busses
Each instance can be set to send out ofr receive ducking control from one out of six ducking busses. Interaction between tracks adds a strong level of glue and clarity to the mix.

Working level control (Trim)
Gain staging is extremely important when dealing with analog gear and emulations. A single level Trim control makes it extremely easy to do. Just set the internatl gain and use the needle meter to check what's happening internally.

Extra-Headroom Whole Model control
All the instances are a whole system, sharing the system, a power supply, etc. A crowded, hot mix can stress the console. Going back to each instance to manage the average levels could be a nightmare.
A single control lets us manage the overall working level (or "available power and headroom").

Stereo Aligned Saturation option
While checking hardware and stereo saturation we found a weird question: "can we keep the original stereo image through level saturation?". Actually we can't, simply because a channel saturates more than the other one. But after a deeper series of tests we got a new thing, something like Stereo Aligned Saturation. A bit harder to do in hardware, simpler in software. It is an option for us to test it in Strip v.3.

SKnote announces Strip v.3 (StripBus) - Console "whole modeling"

Here are some simple graphs which should give an idea of how things work in Strip v.3 (and Etna, somehow): There are basically two ways of using a compressor: to add snap (actually as a dynamic expander) or to tame dynamics (really compressing). In Strip they are both in feedback mode. Attack rate and compression...

SKnote announces Strip v.3 (StripBus) - Console "whole modeling"

New Strip v.3 is available online: It is available in the webshop on www.sknoteaudio.com and in the user area for existing users. More detais soon.

What's the best way to use Airwindows Plugins to 'Analogify' ?

He's not using any AW plugins. Everything he mentions is part of SKnote Strip.
