Pretty good deal. They had the same offer a year ago i think. But i wouldn't get my hopes up for this being anything else but a limited offer and not trying to get rid of stock in light of a new and improved superbrute. I'm sure they are working on something new but don't think it's gonna be seen before aes. Namm will bring the soundcard (with bugs for the suckers)

I think the offer might be available when you order it directly from arturia. But this is often the case with discounts. The dsi stuff is not really on sale in eu and also the super offers on the slim phatty were not to be seen over here.

The offer was and is showing up at shops too, if your dealer doesn't show it then tell them to acknowledge it. Arturia has dealt the blow, the dealer will get the discount too.

Couldn't care less if they bring out a bigger brute now or in a year or ten tbh, 280 is a bargain however you cut it. This linked with my micro is a semi modular duophonic brute with note priority set lo and high, happy days

A good price, but I think it's necessary for Arturia to keep selling these. The BS2 hs dropped in price, as has the ms20mini. Either of those I'd rather have btw.

All major eu dealers have updated prices for the brute. I think it's a great sounding synth. A second osc would be great but the textures it's capable of doing make it well worth the money. And it has it's own sound. At 400 bucks, anybody that doesn't have one should go for it. I have a micro so don't see the point of getting this instead of another mono (getting cash together for a nyborg) but if you wanna get a beginner synth (and not only) it's well worth the asking price

On this note I find the ultrasaw and metallizer stuff less desireable than just adding one or two more VCO's. If you look at the schematics they released you can see that for the same parts count and controls they could have added two more VCO's instead of these other gimmicks (I know they're not quite gimmicks but more VCO's is better and more flexible). Lower price is cool though, I bought one when they came out but returned it because I personally didn't like the filter and didn't care for what was achieved w/ the ulstrasaw, brute factor et al).

Might be interested but when I tried it in store I was left underwhelmed at the build quality... Felt flimsy compared to my bs2. But the sound had more character and punch.

Auturia synths are garbage compared to the MS20 mini, Erebus Dreadbox, BSII, Minitaur, or Mother32(which costs more, but you get A WHOLE LOT MORE, for an extra couple hundred bucks).

Arturia synths are the worst bang for the buck buy on the market.

They definitely aren't though, are they?

On paper yeah the BSII and plenty of other current synths blow it out of the water. But what a lot of these synths lack, including the BSII (yes I have one) is their own sound and character. Out of the main 3 (that got things going) I'd go for an MS20, Minibrute and BS211 in that order.

i keep hearing this about build quality with the minibrute. the blue micro i have feels really well built and all the pots are solid without wobble in them. sure, it doesn't feel like a voyager but considering it cost me 333 euros, i was surprised how good everything felt on it (apart from the keys which i never touch anyway). the bs2 does sound a bit vanilla compared to the brute or ms20. but it's a very capable synth as well. i'm thinking of picking one up used one of these days because of the extra options on it but everytime i listen to more unique synths like the nyborg, the bs2 again feels a bit bland in comparison (yes, there is a big price difference).

I didn't care for the sound and features of the minibrute but to be fair I found it way more robust and well built than the Bass Station II. The body is made from a custom aluminum extrusion and is assembled well. The BSII is all ABS plastic and weighs about 1lbs.

What? You're talking out of your ass if you think the minibrute is more robust than the bs2. The bs2 is solid as hell.

One is built like Chinese consumer electronics, the other is built more like a professional musical instrument, in my opinion.

That doesn't tell me anything. I knew the BS2 was plastic and I knew the Minibrute/Microbrutes are aluminum. What matters is the controls, and the overall feel. I think the BS2 feels more solid. The knobs are solid, the whole unit looks and feels better than the Arturia stuff, in my opinion. When I tried the Arturia in-store, it felt really cheap compared to my BS2. If you can get over the fact that it's *gasp* plastic, it's actually a pretty solid unit.

Fair enough but in that case perhaps you shouldn't condemn someone else's opinion by stating "...you're talking out of your ass if you think the minibrute is more robust than the bs2." as if your opinion is the only one that counts. It's my opinion, as both a professional musician and design engineer. The Bass Station II is nice, and considering the build quality is priced fairly. Same with the Minibrute. Have fun.
