This is quite the ingenious rack system, I'm very impressed. Not only does it utilize that so often underutilized ergonomic space right in front of every keyboard player (that isn't playing a flip-up panel synth like a Mini D), but it so appealingly bridges the subtractive synth world with the eurorack world.
I for one have spent quite a lot of time this year developing my "circle of synths" setup to be as accessible and ergonomic as possible. A huge part of that effort is making use of adjustable stands (Odyssey L360's) that hold synth modules perfectly positioned above my synth keyboards, right in that underutilized space that would otherwise be empty. Without the stand approach which turns your flat synth into an expanded flip-up panel synth, one needs to pivot, twist, slide, bend, reposition, etc. in a less than ideal manner and quite a lot. All these awkward motions add up quickly over time.
Utilizing this approach, I created the Prophet-6+6, OB-6+6 (both seen here in this thread w/pics in the 1st post;
(VCO) Profit-12 and OB-12 - Poly Powerhouses ) and Sub-37+MS-20/M mega mono (in progress). I put the DSI's on what are called over-chair table with wheels (or, over-bed table - which is hilariously personified to the extreme in a new Moog Over-Bed thread). Mine were made just wide enough to roll over my Relax The Back zero-G Perfect Chair, which allows me to play in a relaxed, partially reclined position. This has been enormously helpful when I'm in a lot of pain and need to decompress my spine some.
I've been flirting with the notion of purchasing a manageable little eurorack strip to form a unique synth, filter, FX, etc. rack that I would then place on a stand and position over my new OB TVSP (Black Beauty) with it's awesome patchbay strip. I had this same Arturia strip rig positioning in my head, but it didn't look as good nor incorporate the swivel stand system - which is brilliant. This is a very enticing product - and dangerous for one's wallet when one builds their diligently selected rack units to fill it.
I'm also planning to set up three FX pedal strips in this same manner, using 18" wide Pedaltrain strips (with custom wood frames to match the synths) placed securely on stands positioned above my mono synths like the Mini D, Voyager and MatrixBrute. Select pedals (mostly from my guitar stomp box collection) right at arms reach just above the flip-up panels on the synths. For example, a TCE FX pedal strip above my Voyager that includes stereo chorus (Corona), dual OD's (MojoMojo x 2), and a stereo delay (Alter Ego Vintage v4). Then, another strip above the Mini. So, this ergo space is all utilized and I can stay in an ergo seated position while dialing in my sounds and playing.
Anyway, bravo Arturia for this whole approach that is very well conceived and implemented! I think this is gonna do very well indeed!
