This may be the wrong sub-forum, but I know people here and know there are plenty that use Logic. Feel free to move it if you see fit admin.

I was in the middle of a project and had just started to stretch out my arrangement when suddenly it would not open. See attached image.

It says Logic Pro quit unexpectedly while using the Synsoacc plug-in. I googled that and came up with some info on Cubase, which I have never used. I finally realized that while I don't use Cubase, I do use Steinberg eLicense USB dongle. Then I noticed while Logic was loading the plug-ins I was using in the project, it kept pausing on Vengeance Metrum, which requires eLicense. I updated my eLicense software, and I updated Metrum, but no help, same thing.

I'm trying everything I know to get this project open, but I just can't get it.

I've been able to recreate all of the music by ear, no problem there, but a couple of my synth patches, and a hi-hat patten, I just can't get right, and it is driving me crazy.

Any help or ideas on how to open a corrupted file would be great.

I have sent a request for help to Steinberg, but they have not gotten back to me. Any other project I try to open works just fine.

I tried opening a new project, then selecting <File> <Import>, then found the project file which opened all of the data, channle strips, AU's, settings, etc.....I selected all of them, clicked add. didn't work, same thing, quit because of Synsoacc.

as a quick fix take the AU out of your components folder so Logic wont crash

have you tried uninstalling and re-installing Metrum? seems like this would be an eLicenser problem though, maybe a different USB port? also did you just update the eLicenser software or did you update the firmware of the eLicenser?

Basically, I didn't uninstall Metrum, but I was due for an update, which basically just removes the old version and replaces it with a new.

I heard back from Steinberg, who blames Vengeance of course. I tried to explain, that it was the eLicense software that was crashing Logic.

I don't see any firmware updates for eLicense though I did update the software.

Using <FILE> <IMPORT>: I was able to get everything except my drums, which will be much easier to replace than a couple of the synth patches I spent hours creating, and haven't quite been able to recreate.

At least I got most of it.
