It took me a while to realize Gate is quantized in flux mode - I typically just toggle flux on /off rhythmically either as a "glitch" effect or to insert acid slides, but recording a gated sequence with the "save gates" function enabled takes a lot of the finesse out of note input in flux mode and allows slides to be recorded live especially if you are fast/accurate with the narrow/key input toggle. This style of playing also allows slow yet quantized 1shot sweeps over multiple steps, since the gates give the impression of 8th/16th notes without retriggering the lfo.

I've got a noise mute mod, for bursts of noise, or, cutting off the hi hats and snare noise.

I've also got a new description on the synth voice mute mod, ie, standalone fitler mode. You are still getting envelope information and key tracking on the filter, so with MIDI, you get a syncable step filter, and/or, envelope generator onto your audio input, controlled by whatever inaudible ribbon sequence you record in.

I've been playing this thing a lot lately. It's a one-stop jam session, dance party, acid bath waiting to happen. I think the MIDI input is the biggest game changer, busting out quick riffs on a keyboard is so much better than the ribbon. The noise-mute switch is fun for certain moments too. I'm really starting to actually love this box. I was dancing in my room like a madman today. I even got some pretty convincing black metal drums happening at one point, it made me laugh out loud.

It turns out there is some noise bleeding through onto the main output even with the noise pot turned all the way down. The noise mute switch kills it. But it also slightly detunes the main VCO so it's a bit of a trade off if you're playing melodically. For noisy bleep blap loops it doesn't matter really.
