In a hoarder.... I dont like selling things lol - well expensive things sure, but the smaller items? I tend to put them away in case I need thhm again.

Well - i recently brought n a Moog Muse and had to let one keyboard go - I chose Osmose (for various reasons - dont ask or criticise about that lol).

This being a more expensive item it went on Reverb.

I thought - Ill just have a look while Im here if I have anything else - so into storage.

i had a smallish analogue mixer I replaced with a larger one.
I had the larger one Id replaced with an 18i20 audio interface
I had that 18i20 id replaced with a Prosonus 32R.....

I sound a power stage Id kept when i bought a Power station (for duel duties)

I found several non boutique FX pedals Id used for specific things in specific projects and saved in case those projects ever got back together....

I found all sorts of stands, midi thru, mergers etc. All sorts of little things.

I just thought "this is all dead money" - so up it went for sale, bar a couple of little things that are usefull to have and arnt worth more than £30.

I have one item left to be sold - and Ive raised enough for an OBx8 Desktop......

Jebus - I had no idea I was holding onto still that would add up to so much. Maybe it was a "subconscious" savings plan......

That's what happens when one has a lot of gear. It's better to sell the gear where there's overlap and when it's not being used. I'd probably do the same if there was something just beyond reach.

I guess I should consider myself lucky in that I do not have a hoarding instinct. If anything that I have doesn’t see a decent amount of use, I try to get rid of it as soon as possible. The only things I can’t seem to part with are old computers, which I put in my garage with the intent of wiping out their drives and bringing them to our local e-waste facility… but then I never seem to get around to it.

I'm not much of a hoarder, but I am someone that will put something in a closet and forget about it.

This reminds me I have a few pedals and a couple Elektron boxes to unload, and they are in the proverbial closet right now.

Yep. Those small £100-200 items add up alarmingly fast and before you know it you've well exceeded flagship poly prices. Roland, Korg and Behringer know this all too well, with their "gotta catch 'em all" synths.

I've got like three old Macs that I'm having a hell of a time trying to wipe so I can do the same. I'm pretty good about getting to the dump/e-waste facility but I need to wipe these stupid drives first.


Back on topic, I plan on getting a Polybrute 6 and I've already told myself at least 50% of the funds need to come from selling off things I'm not using.
