A very long time ago I had a Roland TR-606, and a bit after that a Korg Electribe ER-1, but both long gone.

Now I have:

I'm using the MPC Live 2 as such (standalone) or the AKAI S6000 (sequenced).

Right now I use the BOSS DR 880 only as a tone generator , and the additional Guitar FX Input is amazing to use for another Synthesizer

.

Programming of the drums is in my Yamaha RM1x because that part of the 880 is complete unusable .

Update: Just got a Korg Volca Kick and a couple of weeks ago I picked up a broken Korg Electribe ER-1 which I fixed, so an old classic is back in the house!

So now I have:

Just added Sound master Stix ST-305 to my collection. Never knew it existed until I saw the ad. Think Korg DR-55 with individual volumes and outputs for all the drums.

I coveted the ST-305 for quite awhile but they don’t seem to come up for sale that often. Or at least back when I was looking several years ago, that seemed to be the case. Congrats!

Had never even heard about it until on came for sale in our local classifieds. Bought it out of curiosity. For the money it seems to offer a lot.

Mine is almost identical, minus the Jomox. Right down to having both Maschine AND Maschine+

I would also add Elektron A4 MKii, because with the Druma soundpack, it spits out some of my all-time favorite drum sounds.

Sorry, I have to ask: "pants"? I assume from context that it means bad, but I have never heard that before. Is that a Britishism or something? (I know my UK friends always get a chuckle out of the US' usage of "pants" in general conversation.)

Well, of course. Drum machines are mostly interesting for people who want to use hardware, either integrated with a DAW or just a completely hardware-based setup.

If you're focused on in-the-box production, nothing wrong with that, but you can get a lot more flexibility for a lot cheaper with software drum machines, and trying to use a hardware dm would just complicate things in most cases.

Ah man, when I first started posting in this thread, I was going through my analog-only phase, so all I had as far as drum machines was an MPC1000. I didn't make a lick of good music at that time, either.

It's been alluding me for years, I think it may be a pitched processed 808 snare but not sure, it turns up all the time on freestyle electro type beats but this was Joey Beltram.
