You def did'nt heard/noticed the sonic the diff
I'm so glad i kept the syntakt , not only the analog drum engines (taking from the rythm) rocks , but the analog osc , analog drive and filter is on another level imho ... and yes i do use also the digital synth side of it , wich is basically what we have on a digitone in a less deep way ... but core sound is the same ... now that said , i can say it ithout any hesitation that , like Nord and Acess , Elektron can make the digital synth sounds more analog that a lot of other boxes .... it is simply impressive the quality of , not only the engines but the distortion and the filters ...
I was so hyped with digitone 2 that i was close to buy it , in fact i'm still thinking of it , but not at all as being superior to syntakt , at all , but more like allowing me to go on other territories ... simple as that ....
If i want raw power , focus , depth and punch , syntakt is simply unbeatable in that aspect still ..
If i want complex landscapes , acoustic like sounds and texture , polyhonie , or even rythm sequencing ideas ...didgitone is just superb in that aspec , also as i tool box for production (you need a smooth pad fast , here we go , need a noise modulated , here we goo , ya need a 1/3/5 chord on counter note , here we go ...) same can be said for syntakt but monophony is on the menu ...
