What are your TOP3 favourite analog synthesizers currently available on the market? We exclude the classic vintage Kings like the Jupiter 8 etc. It doesn't have to be released in 2022, could be older but still available and purchased as brand new. OK, your favourite three in that particular order - number 1, number 2 and number 3!

PolyBrute... nothing else like it for realtime control and modulation... the UI is fantastic and the sound is excellent and diverse with the dual filters.

Do I have to pick just one?

My Sequential Take 5 has gotten most of my analog love recently.

Runner-up: Moog Matriarch. OB-6 rates highly too.

I’m limiting my choices to synths I own that can still be bought new. I also love my Sirin but it’s been discontinued for quite a while.

1. Sequential Prophet 5 reissue - I'm planning to buy it some time soon - it's absolutely number 1 on my GAS list.
2. Korg MS20 FS - I'm a happy owner.
3. Moog Model 10 - it's a dream for now.

After that come:

4. Korg 700S FS - I love this reissue - would buy it if I didn't already get similar vibes from my MS20.
5. Oberheim OB-X8 - great synth, I'm not a huge user of that kind of sound at this moment.
6. Soma Laboratory Pulsar 23 - hope to buy it soon, right after the P5.
7. Buchla Easel Command - love it, number 3 on my GAS list.
8. Soma Laboratory Lyra 8 - I've got it and love it.

Interestingly, that's all - with all the plethora of analogue synths these days, I have no desire to own anything other than the above eight.

In the past few years, I’ve had an OB6, Rev2, Nymphes and a Polybrute. The only one that remains is the Polybrute. Love it to death. Love it so much that I have no interest in the OBX8 or the Prophet 5/10. Plus, with 70+ knobs and sliders it’s easy to map them to the same sliders and knobs on VSTs like Repro 5.

I have a bunch of great synths including Prophet-10, OB-X8, Matriarch, etc.
My Sequential Prophet REV 2 16-voice still gets the lion's share of my time
and ends up on the most projects.

Absolutely! My PolyBrute is probably my favorite synth ever - just so much depth and so many ways to get expressive sounds out of it. It’s truly a dream synth.

Deciding on my other two favs is a little trickier. Probably the Prophet Rev2 because it’s such a workhorse synth with so many features, not to mention 16 voices and two layers. I’m loving my new Prophet 6, but I’m still in the honeymoon phase, so we’ll see. #3 could be a tossup between the P6 and Slim Phatty. The Slim Phatty is just so deliciously creamy sounding, which is ironic to me because I recall being very underwhelmed by it when it was first introduced, thinking it was overpriced and very vanilla. I guess it hadn’t occurred to me at the time that vanilla is very deliciously creamy.

Edit: having re-read the criteria, the Slim Phatty may not qualify, so #3 is probably the Prophet 6, but the Sub37 would be a contender.

Plus the UI on the PolyBrute is freaking awesome! The Matrix is so good for presets and modulation... then there is the sequencer.

Plus you can organize presets on your computer and live edit on the software version.

In terms of sound, power/capability and workflow it's the best analog polysynth ever IMO.

For #2 and #3 ... Moog Matriarch and for something not covered by those two... Voltage Research Lab.

100 percent agree about it being the best synth ever. Early demos biased a lot of people against it, and many assume it’s just a polyphonic minibrute. Or the worst take, “I don’t like the sound of the brute oscillators.” I want to invite these people over for about 20 minutes and blow their freaking minds with how incredible it sounds.

Don’t forget the arp! I love that the PB has a true arp, that cool matrix-based sequencer, and the conglomeration of the two. Everything about this synth was so well thought out.

I agree. I think if I was to design a perfect analog poly synth for myself, it would end up basically being the PolyBrute (although I’d welcome a few more voices, but I’m not complaining!)

This thread has made me realize that out of the six analogs I own, three are out of production, so I guess I’ll just list the ones that still are.

Prophet 6: Modern take on a classic. Simple enough to be immediate and fun to work with, and a lot of sweet spot and always sounds great.

PolyBrute: Take the coolest VA synth but make it A.

REV2: The Matrix 6 on steroids with the mind of a Matrix 12.
