Looks like Nymphes format/size and apparently being revealed at Superbooth:
Announced today, Dreadboxโs Dysmetria aims to make gritty analogue grooves more accessible at a price point in reach of beginners on a budget.
Stumbled across this on Music Radar and thought some might be interested. Cheers.
If it is similar to their previous diy kits (which it likely is): the cardboard box that comes with the kit can be used as a case. So no dedicated case is needed to use it as a desktop synth, unless you want something more fancy.

That was only with the Hades and Erebus kits.
After that the boxes were normal cardboard boxes and could not be used for that, at least no more than any other cardboard box

ok, so not :(
It was a nice idea to make these boxes into ready-to-use diy cases.
Dammit, guys! I've butcher more kits/repairs than I can count. I can't solder for crap, so I have to wait for another builder to make one of these so I can buy it. I had to do that with Antiphon and not only did it take forever to happen, but because it was stupid limited edition, I had to pay a premium for it.
where did he say Abyss? I missed that part.
If true is great news but somehow i really doubt it
It makes a lot of sense to offer the Abyss as a DIY kit if you think about. The original was mainly through the hole and took a lot of time to build, which I recall was the reason they discontinued it. The number of man hours involved in construction was also the reason for the relatively high price which hurt sales at the time. What better way to recoup the R and D costs than to sell a kit version and outsource the donkey work to the consumer? The kit would contain the firmware chip and other SMD parts on the controller board leaving the user to build the voices and effects. I think it would be a pretty fun and reasonably straightforward build, far easier than the Deckards Dream for example. The Abyss boards are nicely laid out with a low part count. I really hope this happens as the Abyss 2 when/if it happens will be a very different beast indeed.

I'm not sure how easy it would be for them to turn it into a relatively easy kit to build and fit it in a more conventional box. Maybe it would be a simplified version, who knows. The price will be also very interesting.
I had the impression that did not have any SMD. But maybe the kit has.

Dreadbox should go back to making those bigger/chunky desktop modules like the original Murmux etc, those looked great and sounded superb. These little flat boxes are so boring to me.

I'm sure right now there are just trying to get through the supply chain shortages by selling these kits.
