Funny enough I found a stack of S-50 libraries on Floppy last week...dunno why I didnt pass them on, maybe couldnt find them

Threw an Emax II in the trash , had a relay output issue, should have got it fixed
Once threw a harmony Flying V guitar out the upstairs bedroom window
Didn’t smash so just threw it out.
Gave away a nice Gretsch drum kit to my next door neighbor because I was moving
Gave a piano away to a friend for the same reason.
Gave a bunch of stuff away when I moved

I sold my kid's acoustic drum kit to Guitar Center. For what they paid me, it was almost the same as throwing it in the trash.

I have a box of "Free Stuff" that any buyers of other stuff can take. Little bits and bobs that have some value, but not really worth selling: packets of guitar strings, excess cables, little odd USB 1 interfaces. Someone always knows someone who can use it.

I'd rather rehome stuff than just toss it or donate it to charity (i.e. have it stolen by the charity shop employees...)

Actually, let me finish that sentence--Its been 20 years since I had a friend that had any interest in synthesizers. Back then I did give a friend a Alesis Quadrasynth. I got it for $80 from a pawn shop because they thought it was broken. The problem was it had digital out, and was set to clock with the wordclock input. But with no clock at the input, it just made a lot of weird sounds. I didn't really care for it so I gave it to my friend.

Cristian Vogels old E-MU ESI32. I left it outside near the communal street bins just before I moved house some years ago. You couldn't give them away about 10 years ago.

Hmm. Well, that hasn't been my experience with the Nemesis at all but I' glad for you that you got the Boss unit. DD500 is a great delay pedal, no doubt.

I've dumped more "friends" into the mental trashcan than audio equipment into a literal trashcan, that's for sure.

Let's see...

- Casio CZ-101 with broken keys I tried to "fix" but couldn't get it back together once it was taken apart.

- Alesis iO Dock -- didn't throw it away but may as well have. Sold it on eBay, didn't work when buyer received it.. just refunded his money and told him to keep it.

- Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator Arcade -- battery leakage from Pocket Operator Robot stacked on top of it in a drawer ate through the screen :( Funny thing is that the Robot PO has never worked properly; however, I still have it.

- Mom and Dad threw out my Casio SK-1 right after I moved out to my first apartment. I loved that thing -- I guess they didn't. I guess there's only so many repitched burps one can listen to. I found a mint one on Reverb about a year ago, so it's back again... and being used much more creatively this time around!

- Still hanging on to a couple of things -- again, crappy low-budget stuff -- that probably should be dumped by now. Got a Tascam 103 cassette deck that lasted a good long time, but doesn't work anymore and is definitely not worth repairing.

1) Stick a faded sticker on it.
2) Price it in the $1000-$1500 range
3) Profit
4) Laugh at hipsters who will pay any price to have that authentic lo-fi grit that you just can't get with today's tools no matter what.

I'm sorry that happened to you. My friends from when I was a teenager still call me after 35 years.

Korg EA-1 - Gave it to nephew to kickstart his music career. He now works in IT.
SSL Duende - HW left on top shelf in a storage cupboard when I left my old house because it went native.
DBX Quantum - turned on after not using it for 20 years, it didn't work, so I threw it in the dumpster

I have a few of those as well, although most are buddies from my career in the military. Still talk to a guy from middle school who I met while whooping ass in Street Fighter 2 at the arcade.

When I was made me sell an SH101 after no one seemed impressed with the power bill I wracked up, it was big. Ahhhh That stuck in my craw. Back then Electricity was so cheap from coal fired power plants For the measly $90 bucks I received It was an insult. Only if I kept that one too, as I never sell anything. The fact I bought one again for $120 bucks A few months later was irrelevant in 1985 harsh lesson. My Drumulator loves firing those triggers. What I had found in the dumpster (before it became a popular hobby) far more interesting!

I’m sure the radias Was more capable and other hands but for the life of me I couldn’t get it to do anything but sounding way too cheery and happy whereas I’d rather it be pushed towards the dark side and I just couldn’t get there with it at the time I had a virus c so maybe I wasn’t trying so hard.

Loved the interface but with all the work that korg went to for that rail keyboard and then for it to not have after touch it was a really ****ty keyboard I wish they try to revisit that in like a hybrid way

But I think of it I think I was more in love with the form factor not so much the sound

My Moog System 55, I’ve trashed recently, as it took wayyy too much space, and I’ve needed more room for my babydoll collection.

I like my original Kaossilator though.

Unless something is totally broken and I cant sell it for scrap, then, it will go to either a pawn shop or music store depending. Always try to get a little bit back of my investment.
