the latter with which he is playing in the video.

That boing-y, goo-ey lead synth sound from 'Moonlight & Muzak' has always captivated me.
So spacey and washed out.
It actually sounds more ARP-ish to me.
But I could see those sounds coming from a 800DV (not a pe-1000, though)

You're welcome! I suspect the washed out quality you are hearing is tape echo.
He used it on the Korg DV-800/PE-1000 setup.

Wally Baderou. It's a name i certainly know as a keyboard/synth dude from that era. Session player/programmer.
I've long loved that M album, particularly the 'moonlight' track. I think it's a genius arrangement (and mix). Ahead of its time. I hear so much that followed in it, YMO, OMD, depeche....
Do you know if Wally Baderour was the "MD" of sorts for Robin Scott on that record? Or 'just' a session player....
If you could point me to other great WB recordings, sessions, performances I'd love that too.

I always LOVED the synth/sequencing arrangement in this song. Not really a 'performance', so i'm sorry if it doesn't belong here, mods.

If one can get past the innocuously dopey lyrics - and especially the male singer (who has to win the award for pervcreepiest sounding 'male vocalist' of all time) - this thing is a masterstroke of sequencing.
And all the 'played' synth parts are amazing too.

Did Giorgio produce this? If not, maybe he should have. Just all sortsa Midnight Express/I Feel Love vibes going on.

Thank you Maestro Bern. I didn't think Mods would disapprove of the subject matter or lyrics - c'mon, it's so silly - rather that it's not exclusively a 'synth performance'. Live, video or otherwise. I.E. it's just a recording of a band single that has cool keys/synths in it.

Not sure why my yoob vid wouldn't post. That's weird. There were no images, just an album-cover-like illustration of (fully clothed) Terri Nunn.

This really spoke me at roughly the end of college, when it came out. Some thing about the way the synth lines all worked together..... truly locked. In a way that some of the contemporary Depeche Tracks did not. (Those were awesome too, just a little more 'jagged' in their assembly).

The bass sequence especially. Anyone recognize what type of synth that bass might be? So hard to know, especially w bass.
