Well folks, you did it; The River may not have won the synth of the year poll but we took the Silver Medal thanks to all of you. And in the end we got 81 votes and gave the Model D a run for its money. Think about that; a synth made in batches of 20 and 40 currently working on the second batch has enough magic to give a mass produced synth a run for its money. Think about who we beat; Grandmother, Prophet X, and Quantum (all fantastic synths); that is some very respectable company, there. I think we got some nice press and exposure out of it as well. That only bodes well for the future of Baloran and The River. It truly is "synth of the year" to me. Bravo, Laurent!

Does anyone know the dimensions of the top shelf of the river? I’m trying to plan out what will fit on top.

I'd estimate something like 12-15cm. Roughly the same as the keys.
I think there are some pictures and videos with FX units or other units (I think I remember a MicroMonsta) on top of it, so that could give you a hint, too.
You can always fit slightly bigger units if you play around with their rubber feet.

As a matter of fact, I'm one of those “April” River customers, my 52th birthday is also in April and yes, what a birthday present that will be!

Its a Lovely instrument, sounds better than The Moog One. I think sometimes when you try to throw everything but the kitchen sink into a design some of the soul is lost in the process and thats where I think Moog went wrong with the one.

I can only hope that someone will change their mind (very unlikely though) and let me buy their 2nd batch $ deposit with Baloran, as to take their place. Hey, no harm wishing.
