Why is everyone so upset? Roland will release some crap but always ends up releasing some gold, even if it gets pooped on at first. That's not new at all.

The original x0x line was, well wasn't well received when they were new... (well most of it).

Take the TB-3 for example... yes when you look at it as just a 303 clone some may be disappointed (it's close enough for me though), but when you look at it as more than a 303 that's where is shines. Those extra sound banks are really useful, and the amount of tonal variation when tweaking only 5 knobs is huge.

The priced of the new TB-03 and TR-09 might seem high now compared to the TB-3 and TR-8, but everyone knows that the price the manufacturer gives is always higher than what it actually goes for.

So with Roland, like pretty much any manufacturer, has products that are hit and miss. Don't make me bring up failed products like the MC-303, but even that got improved on it the later MC series.

I do agree though, that there needs to be less recreation of old gear and more new stuff. Build on the legacy rather than just the same old, even if that old gear was really awesome.

I'd so love a TB-3 Pro or something with more knobs and fully editable synth engine. It would be insane.

Yeah, IMO, they blew this roll out by assuming that it would be "special" by treating it like an event. Apple does this too. This is 2016. The good thing about the information superhighway is that you can get on and off on any exit you want at any time. Push it all out at the same time and let us decide what we want to see. Sure, do the live stream for the ultimate fans who want to eat up everything, but for me, the drum stuff and DJ stuff... while kind of cool, are just not really something I want to spend my day watching.

I've just sold one of my AT turntables as photo'd, yeah it looks like a Technics(Owned SL-1200's in the past - 1989), What I am saying is it is the same turntable made in the same factory as the AT's, just with Roland branding and a few changes. It is nowhere near the quality of SL-1200's if it is the same deck inside(which I'm sure it is). Compare the images closely and you'll see it is the same turntable, note the rectangle imprint at the top and the tonearm assembly, the pop up light too.

I replaced mine(Audio Technica) with a pair of Reloop RP-7000's couldn't be happier, just like my old Stanton STR-150's performance wise, top notch. The Reloop RP-7000 is a super oem turntable, just like my old Stantons. The AT is not super oem.

Confuses me why they don't just permanently manufacture a small amount of every single 'cult' item, all the stuff that goes for good money on eBay, in its original form/spec (+ obvious modern additions like more patch memory, connectivity etc) and be done with it. Just have a 'vintage' Or 'classics' division. Sell those for full whack and tweaked ACB/boutique versions of every unit as cheaper alternatives. Win win. Then they can forget about it and have consistent sales while they test out research/releases of more forward thinking ideas (v-synth 2, new sampler/groovebox, loopers etc).

Must be a reason for them not to do this, but I can't think of it...
