I have a pair of those Neumann KH120 and I can only say good things about them!

I moved house about 1.5 years ago, and sadly my studio has been more or less in limbo since. But I've finally started getting my current room "organised." This is my new place. . . .

I must confess I have gone through at least 20 purchases over the last year to get to this setup. Space has been limited to the desk that you see here, and finding a small selection of gear that speaks to you is surprisingly hard!

The KH120's really are good. I had a pair of BM5A's before that which I think I prefer in terms of the way they sound, but I needed something a bit smaller in a really crappy untreated space and the Neumanns are spectacular given their size.

Very cool setup. I note on your Soundcloud page that a Microbrute is featured in several pictures but not in the picture you posted. May I ask why?

The Microbrute and Minibrute have always interested me and I would be interested to find out why you have dropped this unit from your current setup.

It's really down to the very limited space I have/vs my needs.

The microbrute impressed me a lot (I've only tried the Minibrute at a friends house, but sonically they are very similar). If I had just a teensy bit more space I would probably get another one for another live voice in the setup. I kinda wish they did a desktop version without the keyboard as that would make more sense for a lot of people, although the keys aren't that big on the microbrute really.

The microbrute does a lot of things very well, so if you're considering one I would nudge you wholeheartedly in the 'yes' direction.

I've always wanted to play this game.

That is an Alpes Machines Matrix Ctrlr, a dedicated editor/librarian/arpeggiator for Oberheim Matrix 6/6r/1000s. It's pretty great.

Just curious, did anyone else cover the gear list and stare at the picture guessing what everything is and checking to see if they were right?

That Alpes stumped me.

The Matrix Ctrlr is a pretty new piece, and I don't think there are many of them around yet (especially since it came in the form of a kit) but Julien, the designer, is very responsive and it's a really fun bit of kit. Definitely makes the M6 a *lot* more accessible.

they're fiber micro cloth rags that came with a product called iKlear. It's a cleaner poloish for my macbook pro

Judging from the photo, I'd say you have a retina macbook from 2011 onwards.
I would NOT RECOMMEND using any screen cleaner on that since the screens on those are prone to damage from using cleaners and stuff. The layers of the screen get separated or something and you will get sort of stripes that won't go away. I have seen it a few times. The period in which you could get that fixed for free is over. Just a dry microfibre cloth should do and is safer anyway.

You learn something new every day.

Never use any "cleaners" on LCD screens because most screens have protection coating which same cleaners will spread/ remove over and leave a mess.

In order to clean LCD screen to "factory" mint state use distilled water and cotton balls. Apply some water to the cotton and start moving in circular way, portion after portion of the screen. Repeat across the whole screen. Takes 5 minutes but it is worth it. The result will amaze you!

Our stage crew for events uses micro fiber cloths for getting fingerprints off of screens, mostly because they're convenient and reusable. Those don't really help for getting anything else off of them, though (like if someone had something on their hand). We have screen wipes we use in those cases. Never had any issues with either.
