Switchcraft Panel-Mount M/F Hole Adapters?

I'm redoing some wiring and I want to change the gender of the XLR's on some of my i/o panels and I'm running into a bit of a snag because I'm also trying to be cheap and use the parts I have on hand instead of buying new stuff.

What I have now are panels with a bunch of Switchcraft D3F connectors, and I want to swap them out with a bunch of D3M connectors that I already own. Problem is that the two connectors have different diameters (the F is larger), so while the panels have pre-drilled holes for the screws of both connectors, the knockouts for the connector barrels are only for the larger size.

What I'm looking for is some sort of adapter that'll allow me to install the smaller D3M's into the bigger holes. Something as simple as a plastic sleeve would be fine. I can't seem to find anything like that, but even if they do exist, I don't know what they're called to even search for them.

Any suggestions?

I have never seen such a thing. You could use Front Panel Express to make you a bunch of custom ones, but it would cost you more than just getting the correctly punched panel.

Switchcraft is not like Neutrik where the males and females share the same hole punch to reduce tooling costs.

Just get a new plate and keep the old one because sooner or later you will decide you need it for something else.

So you want to do it on the cheap?

Been there, done that.

Get some Neutrik NC3MPP connectors. They will mount in the same holes the D3Fs were in, just slightly turned. If you mount them from behind, it will be difficult to tell that they are not straight (at least not from the front of the panel).

These plastic Neutriks should cost about $3 each or less.

Whirlwind actually makes exactly what you want, the WC3MQBK. It mounts in the same size hole and mounting screw locations as the D3F, but it's about twice as much money as the Neutrik.
