Making diy ts/trs van damme cables
I am a noob when it comes to diy audio cabling, so I need some help.
I need plenty of cables for my patchbay, pedals and synths, so I thought I would try to buy a cable roll and connectors and make my own cables.
Seems like Van Damme is preferred by many and has good quality, so I think I will go with this brand.
I will need to make both unbalanced TS cables and balanced TRS cables.
So I am trying to figure out if it is possible to use the same cable roll to make both TS and TRS, or is it advised to buy a separate roll of balanced and unbalanced for this?
Is it as simple as to just twist the hot and cold wire together for the TS cable? Would this be a lower quality cable than using a unbalanced cableroll for it?
If it is just as fine to use balanced cable for both, would it then be the Van Damme Pro Grade Classic XKE 268-001-000 that would be my best option?
Help is appreciated!
