Big sounds that won't break the bank! Although analog synths are often associated with prices that are prohibitive to many, that picture has changed drastically in the past few years. Here we have four excellent options to deliver those rich analog tones without burning a hole in your wallet. Without any further ado, here it goes:

Korg MS-20 Mini

The Korg MS-20 Mini is an authentic scaled down reproduction of the 1978 classic MS-20 monophonic synthesizer and it’s even developed by the same engineer. Although 86% of the original unit’s size, the Korg MS-20 Mini replicates every detail of its older sibling’s circuitry with the 2VCO / 2VCF / 2VCA / 2EG / 1LFO structure, extremely flexible patching system and low-pass and high-pass resonant filters while conveniently implementing USB MIDI compatibility. The synthesizer also has a limited edition model in a white monotone color.

Moog Minitaur (Rev 2)

The Moog Minitaur is a compact subharmonic bass machine based upon the legacy of the famous 1980s Moog Taurus. As Moog’s fourth generation of its kind, this compact analogue bass powerhouse has seamless DAW integration through its proprietary Minitaur Editor Software that has the ability to select and save up to 128 presets, this can also be done via its front panel and/or a MIDI Controller. While Minitaur is a monophonic synth it can also be poly-chained. Its analogue structure consists of 2 waveshape oscillators with square and saw modes as sound sources.

Moog Mother-32

The Moog Mother-32 is a Semi-modular Eurorack Analogue Synthesizer and Step Sequencer, this means the synthesizer can easily be expanded with extensive interconnectivity to any other synth-based ecosystem. Its analogue monophonic sound engine offers 1 oscillator with pulse and saw waveforms ranging from 8Hz to 8kHz (16Khz max with LFO/CV); 1 white noise generator, 1 external audio input, a 32-step sequencer featuring 64 sequence locations, keyboard and Step Edit modes together with tempo, swing, run/stop, hold and reset controls.

Behringer Monopoly

The MonoPoly is Behringer’s take on the classic 1980s Korg Mono/Poly. Behringer’s Analog 4-Voice Polyphonic Synthesizer features 37 semi-weighted full-size keys, 4 VCOs, VCF, 2 LFOs, 2 Envelopes, sync and cross-modulation and an arpeggiator. The affordable version of a only 3-year run highly sought after product was an instant best-seller and said to be a more feature-packed homage to the original bringing the Mono/Poly’s pure analogue signal path to the 21th century with USB MIDI connectivity.
