Not sure if it’s exactly what you’re looking for but if you by session mean a new and empty session (I don’t think the another way), then I think you should look into creating a template with what you’ve got and loading it up and begin creating your new project.

As for not deleting files from the source Project, I guess you would be furious if this process would delete the audio files from your friends that you liked the templates of. That would be very bad. This is correct, in ProTools you can leave the "include Media" checkbox unchecked to not copy any audio files into the template. However, I guess that you still have to clean up any MIDI clips in the timeline (I'll go quite far with PT, but MIDI is where I draw the line, so I'm not sure). Also, in PT, no audio files are deleted either in the source Session, which, again, would be potentially desastrous.

In any case, I still think that removing all Regions in both Main window and Audio window before saving a Template is a manageable task.

I would just duplicate the project click on the whole folder and hit command D if you’re on a Mac, obviously you are as logic then open the new duplicated project and then delete all the audio files. Go on the file management and clean up. Make sure the files are gone, and save that as a template and there’s your mixer

Yes, you can save Audio, AUX and Bus Channel Strip Presets.. It may be easier on a larger session to start from a saved template and import your audio if possible..

It is substantially easier to import the audio into an empty project that has the desired mixer already, as has been repeatedly stated in this thread.
