I have two pieces of gear that use line-warts. I'l like to keep them plugged into the power conditioner in my rack case w/o having them slide around the case.
Any suggestions on how to secure a line-wart when using a power conditioner in a rack-case?
I solved that problem by using 12" power cord extenders (Radio Shack) and drilling small holes in the case (both SKB & wood) and securing the "wall warts" with plastic tie wraps run through the holes. about $6 a pack for the 8" long ones at Home Depot. It's worked great and never came loose.
I've used Velcro in the past, though may come loose with heavy travel. I usually have guitar cables and stuff in the back when it's packed up which keeps the loose stuff from bangin' around anyway...
I've tried pretty much every suggestion mentioned. They all have worked well.
I've also done something simular to Dave's rack vent idea. I used a normal blank rack panel and drilled holes where I needed to attach the tie wraps, then a rack mounted power strip went ablove the wall wart panel with the appropriate AC extensions.
if your road case has rails on both the fron and the back then you can just buy a 19" powerboard and turn it inward so that the wallwarts are on the inside.
I keep them inplace with releaseable cable ties.
I really wish Furman would make a rackmount variable powersupply with 8-10 posrts on it.
Basically like a rackmounted Pedal Power but switchable voltage per connection.
I'd buy 4.
