Step Down Transformer for Imported 722

Apologies if this sounds like a bit of a dumb question, but has anyone imported a Sound Devices 722 (or similar) to the UK from the US? I'm just looking for a quality step down transformer and am hoping someone can recommend one from experience. Thanks!

The SD is a battery device.

If you want the UK mains unit go to the UK distributor which is Shure Distribution.

I would post the contact details, but I'm on my iPhone in the middle of the AES Exhibition in London.

You should not need any transformer to change the voltage. The standard in-line power supply shipped with the unit in the U.S. is "universal" and accepts 100 to 240 VAC. The only thing you should need to do is to either change the cord that connects from the SD's power supply to your outlet, using one with the standard UK style, or use an adapter to accept the U.S. cord and to plug into your outlet.

@John: The UK mains unit is £100. I refuse, on principal, to pay £100 for a ****ing plug!!!

The 722 eats a lot of different DC powers ( the full spec an manual is on the SD web site and can be downloaded ). You can easily use just about any adapter you can find which outputs the right voltage and enough of amps. But ( why is there always a but ) it has a special contact that can cost a bit to buy and is not a beginning solder project to put on the cable. But ( again ) you will not need this as the standard adapter eats UK wall power straight.
