Stereo effect connections on Tascam MM200 line mixer
Hello everyone. I recently bought a Tascam MM200 mixer. I’m currently testing the effect sends for functionality as I bought it used. I’m using TRS cables for every connection. I have my Moog Muse connected to the left/right inputs on channel 1 & 2, it is a stereo pair. It is a stereo channel. I have effect send 1 going to the left input of an Alesis Midiverb II and I have effect send 2 going to the right input. I have the left output of Midiverb going to the stereo return 1 left (mono) and the right output is going to stereo return 2 left (mono). This is a weird way of doing things but that’s how the manual says it should be done with “full stereo format” effect units. I’m panning the effect returns left and right respectively, but I’m only getting the effect on the right side. My dry signal is still there and in full stereo. I can only get the wet signal on the right side. I’ve tried other combinations to try and get an effect signal on the left side but to no avail. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, I’m sure it’s something simple but cannot wrap my head around it. Basically I’m hoping someone has experience with this particular mixer and can steer me in the right direction. The way it uses the effects sends/returns is sort of weird, especially when using full stereo. The manual shows two ways of setting up an effects loop: one for mono in/stereo out and another for stereo in/stereo out. I’m going by the stereo in/stereo out method. Anyone ever use one of these mixers and know how it’s done? Thank you! The link at the bottom is the manual. I’m using figure 10 as reference for the way I’m setting up my effect. https://medias.audiofanzine.com/file...200-479894.pdf
