Hey all, hopefully I’m posting this in the right place, but I’m setting up a 1984 Soundcraft Series 1600 (non producer model) and I have a couple of questions if anybody has first hand experience with one.
First, I have been using a 32 channel Spirit 4 2 board for the last 6 or 7 years as my primary console, and was blessed by each channel having a direct out , so I set the rest of my gear up with that in mind. Now this 1600 console has no DO’s for each channel strip, so I’m realizing it’s kind of a necessity to use the EDAC connections. The manual I have, and the manuals I’ve found online don’t have pinouts for the connector, so firstly I’m wondering if Anyone has the tape send and return diagram handy.
Second, since I don’t have the built in patch bay on my console, would I just be running the lines off those EDAC snakes to the ins and outs on my tape machines, or do I need to have a patchbay in tow to achieve the intended results.
Sorry if I sound dumb, I’m new to using (moderately) real studio gear, so this is a little foreign to me.
