for what it is worth .. i have a USB HUb that has that same thing happening .. but not as expensive or critical to me .. i hit it with Windex and then like a 409 .. and just ket it sit and do it's work .. fine now but it comes back after time just sitting .. like i said NOT saying it is a good thing for the ZOOM but it worked here .. might try putting some on a Toothbrush and trying a small area .. see how that works .. some of these products need a little time to dissolve the Goo !!! and Goo Gone not good for this type material imho

Bought a Tascam UA144 from eBay and only the black plastic end pieces had this problem; it was like maple syrup had dried on it; never experienced this before.

I tried every cleaner and solvent in the house (including denatured alcohol and mineral spirits) - nothing touched it at all, till I tried an orange oil based cleaner designed to remove graffiti, etc. Sold under many names, one is 'Goof Off'.

Still had to scrub and scrub, but eventually all the sticky came off, the 'rubbery' coating along with it - now it's just plain old shiny plastic.

Zoom shipped me a free replacement case when I wrote them about my sticky H6 last year.

I was distraught over this. It was disgusting. I didn't even want to touch it. Using gloves, I took the whole thing apart (pretty easy, actually, just a lot of screws and ribbon cables to be careful with).

I sprayed and covered the whole exterior with Goo Gone - this, specifically: https://googone.com/goo-adhesive-remover-spray-gel

I did two rounds of this, letting it sit for hours each time.

I rubbed it with a durable paper towel, and it's fine. Don't be idiots like me, and get it on the screen, though I can still see..

Hi folks. I can't find any other threads exactly relevant to my issue so I thought I would post in here if that's okay.

I had the same issue as others where my H6 become sticky, but after a search online I found that others had successfully contacted Zoom and got their unit replaced (often for free).

I also contacted them and they agreed to replace it for a £60 fee, perhaps the free option was starting to cost them too much.

I sent the unit to them over a month ago (June 12th) and have had one single message from customer support since. It appears there was an issue with how I returned the item. I should have sent the Customer Repair Order form in an email but I mistakenly printed the form and included it in the package with the unit.

Their only message on June 24th said I would need to send the form via email for them to help me. I did this, and still no reply.

They have my H6 and I have no idea when or if it will be replaced.

Does anybody have any suggestions about how this can be resolved? I'm based in the UK. I started a new ticket about a week ago where I asked for and update and said I'm happy to pay the £60 if they can just let me know how - again, no reply.

It's incredibly confusing and frustrating.
