Description

The SansAmp GT2 is unchanged since its 1993 introduction. In a world of planned obsolescence and constant upgrades, it’s rare to have such a lengthy lifespan. Clearly exceeding the test of time, being around for 30 years speaks volumes.

With the SansAmp GT2, you can “architecturally” create your own rig in seconds. You can easily achieve the most sought-after tube amp sounds, and entirely new ones as well. Choose amplifier type, modification and speaker cabinet/mic placement configurations. You can easily mix and match specific sound characteristics in ways that would otherwise be physically improbable, probably impractical and definitely not cost effective. The SansAmp GT2 is a truckload of great amps in a single, simple pedal.

BUILT-IN SPEAKER/CAB SIM
The 100% analog SansAmp Tube Amplifier Emulation technology encompasses the entire signal chain, from pre-amp to power amp to speaker simulation. An integral part of the circuitry, the SansAmp speaker simulation will complement any type of guitar or bass speaker cabinet system. You can also place an external IR after a SansAmp to give additional flavor if you so desire. The SansAmp speaker sim is designed and individually tailored for a smooth, even response as would be achieved by a multiply-miked cabinet –without peaks, valleys, and notches associated with single miking and many IRs.

Is using a sansamp for recording still relevant ?

Yep I still have a GT2 I've had for decades and I too do the same thing, pull it out once in a while but I end up just going back to my usual setup. It does do the creamy Marshall thing very well but I just can't get the clean tones I want out...
