The directional characteristics OMNI, Cardioid and 8 figure can be set.
In the OMNI and 8 figure the microphones distinguish themselves by an unadulterated recording also of the low frequencies which can be recorded undiminished even if the microphone is located at a larger dlstance from the sound source. The cardioid position is almost independent from frequency showing the good properties of the KM 74
The microphone KM 76 is provided for modulation

I have used the Sennheiser MD431 on snare for many years back in the day. These days, my go to snare mic is a Neumann KMS 105. I rarely leave home without it.
