YOCTO is a Drum Computer clone of Roland TR-808. This is an exact reproduction of the analog part of the TR - 808 (with the exception of the BA662 VCA Clap has been replaced by a BA6110) coupled with a MIDI sequencer. You can store up to 256 patterns organized into 16 banks of 16 patterns in a Non-volatile EEPROM. Various functions have been added such as the ability to mute every sound, to chain patterns as you want, copy, paste, clear patterns
Agreed, there are a stack of analogue drum machines around, MFB, Arturia, Elektron, Vermona as well as things like the Yocto and Nava etc. I too would prefer a sampler, maybe MPC style with loads of analogue processing and hands on control.
Nah, we really need and actual proper sounding 808 at an affordable price, which nobody has made yet. Yocto v1 was close but limited, quite expensive, DIY kit. Roland's own digital attempts sound flat compared to the original and has no real studio use without physical outs, so I say this is a welcome...
Well, you're saying it's still a 'known problem' but I and other people on V2 say it's not... so maybe it's no longer a known problem?
