I really like the atmosphere and myriad of textures. The only thing I'd aim for is more punchiness/definition from the bass in the more complex parts, however the boomy out-of-control toms suit the track which is mostly what’s masking the bass - and you clearly reel them in where necessary, so it’s an artistic decision and textual contexts might be more important to the song than fidelity ones at this point. The guitar @ 2.0 5 might be a tad too loud and the chorus vocal slightly too quiet (match it to the previous guitar volume) but that's well within the realms of taste which can be applied to most of my comments - heard many far, far worse commercial mixes over the years. I tend to prefer more forward vocals but these fit the feel of the song. This is great. Well done. Cool song too.

Just listened to the 24/48 wave in RX Advanced on my HD 650 headphones. Mix sounds good to me overall. I guess if I had to think of something I'd like some taming of the highs maybe on certain instruments and overall to give the mix/master a bit more interest / juxtaposition? It's kind of hard to convey what I'm trying to convey here.

My only other comments really don't have to do with the mix but more from I guess a "producer" angle. I'd make the lead vox a little more hi-fi, (Less AM/telephone) and I'd low fi the weird arguing and make it shorter. The arguing recording is a little too uncomfortable and would still be effective if shortened and low fi'd out a bit to make it more palatable. Again, totally just my subjective opinion of course.

Cool guitar tone and melodies throughout though and mix sounds good overall to me.

Hey I love this! Especially the AM style vocals so it just goes to show how much is down to taste : )

If it were me I might push the drums back a bit, as I love backed/off mixes.

That track sounds great man! Honestly there isn't anything that stood out to me that I would tweak at all.

I removed the tom rumble and backed the fuzz guitars down a tad. The toms opened up some sections a lot.

bcgood:
I removed some hi end on bg vocals
and also made the argument slight less hifi in intro. Didn't change length though as your supposed to be uncomfortable as it's about an abusive father.
also left telephone style vocal as is as I tried making it more hi fi but it removes the mood and makes change from verse to chorus less impactful.

I agree drums a bit loud but I decided to replace them with real drums now so I didn't bother.

That's fair, have a vision for your art and stick to it. Take out what doesn't work and stick to your guns with stuff you feel strongly about. Keep making art, the world needs it.

subtle but sounds good what did you do. Sounds like just reduced some hi end. If you post exactly what you did frequency wise and plugin used I'll incorporate it.

Here's the exact chain and order as well as settings.

Listening on my HD 650 headphones there's a decent amount of difference.

This is my perception after going back and forth again. More bass and what I'd call punchy bass, tamed upper highs, a little more character overall, depth and movement.

Less mids in general but more clarity in certain mid frequencies and upper mid frequencies.

I've added these except wiess mm1 as I don't have it and I already have ozone maximizer at end of chain. It definitely sounds better and less fatiguing though that's for sure. Are you using logic ? if so post the channel preset or individual plugin settings and I'll make sure it's exact. It's not sounding the same at this end as your file.
