Let me have it! i know the EQ on the guitars isn't right any suggestions?

Its sooo tough to judge quality with a MP3.

Maybe the guitars are missing some ass, but I like them thinner.
Maybe EQ the bass up to fill the hole?
Or add another gtr part to fill that music/tonal gap.

All off the drums sounded a little thin, especially the kick, but again it could be the MP3 thing.

How was you phase relationship between the overheads and the close mics?
maybe thats what im hearing?

What is really evident, is that the track feels cool and relaxed, and thats a compliment to you putting the band at ease. Something that a cool mic or some whizbang A/D cant acomplish.

Yeah, the guitar thinness was a little bit on purpose, but you're right, i should have tried to fill the hole with something else.

kidding aside, yeah, it's pretty dated stylistically, isn't it? I'm not a rock guy (hence my first rock mix) but I could tell it wasn't breaking any musical boundaries or something. Just did the mix in a couple of hours for a friend. Mainly i was trying to get the low end thickness you hear in some of the top productions. I think i had some success in that direction.
