Hey peeps!

Been digging on the new Lianna La Havas album for the last month or two now. I'm amazed by how awesome the guitar sounds! Been trying to get something close to that and was wondering if anybody had any information on what she / the engineer is using?

In an interview I read that all of the guitar on the album was simply recorded through a SansAmp. Can anyone tell me more about that?

I have been trying to get a good DI sound for electric guitar, and cannot seem to find anything about how to get a tone like hers.

I've recorded some stuff for Lianne prior to her doing the album. She has a very unique guitar style - she's a really amazing guitarist - so it's more about how she plays the instrument. All fingers, as far as I remember.

I can't comment on what was used on the actual album.

I understand it's mostly how you play the instrument. But how did you capture it? Prior to the album?

It was just a writing session, so can't really remember! we did some vocals with an M149, the acoustic I probably used either a KM84 or maybe a 414...I'd imagine I DI'd the Electric with the API channel strip and just Sansamped it...but you wouldn't have heard any of those demos, as I said literally just a week's writing session.

Yeahhh, I realized that after I had started the thread.. Honestly I do that in my music player when I type her name to get to it too. Just not getting through my noggin!

From what i can see:

1 Boss Equaliser
1 Boss Bass Equaliser
1 Boss Compression Sustainer CS2
1 Boss Compression Sustainer CS3
1 Nano Holy Grail Reverb
and i think a Boss Line Selector at the end, maybe. So she switches between 2 different series of pedals, im guessing?

Also, was through a fender hot rod deluxe

I have to say I just started listening to this album two weeks ago and I'm just completely smitten, this girl is just fantastic.
Has to be the best album I've heard in the last twelve months if not longer.
Not a lot of flash, just a brilliant singer playing simple guitar and awesome songs, makes me smile a lot

just want to chime in that I love her record and much respect on how she presents herself, music first it seems and it's beautiful music and beautiful voice.
