I may be the biggest hater on the planet. I'm an old school guy who primarily produces and directs VO and narration and other varieties of spoken-word. My experience -- pretty vast at this point -- is that the 103 is incapable of cleanly capturing a full-bodied voice at close range. And it doesn't just soft-clip or "saturate," it turns T's and K's and even G's into a hellish mess.
But to be clear, I'm "age-averse" to hearing that crap in pop vocals, too. And not at all crazy about inching my way through a performance -- spoken or sung -- and tediously chopping that junk out. When I could be out on the porch in my rocking chair, being old.
