Hi All,

New to the forum and new to modern digital mixers, but not new to audio engineering. It is finally time to retire my trusty original 01v in favor of something next-gen, and I have settled on the Behringer X18 (NOT the XR18). That said, I found what appears to be a discrepancy between the version sold at retailers like Adorama (who has a smoking deal on a kit version of the board) and Sweetwater. Specifically, the product photo of the one at Adorama has the sends in a single line and a slightly different USB port on the back:

While the one at Sweetwater (and everywhere else) has the sends stacked 3+3:

Any thoughts? Are there two different versions of this board? If so, is one better than the other? I can't seem to find anything "official," so I thought I'd ask around.

shows the mixer with the aux outputs as 2 rows of 3

Behringer never marketed a "different" version of the X18 that I can recall.

That's what I thought, too. Which makes that photo all the stranger. It looks like my order shipped today, so I'll report back when it arrives.

Just an update -- the mixer arrived today and it is the standard (only) version -- sends are 2 rows of 3 and branding is "X Air X18" vs. just plain "X18". A fantastic deal at Adorama.com if anyone is interested: $449 for the mixer, a gator bag and a mediocre XLR cable as opposed to $549 for the board alone. Um...yes, please!

The XR18 and X18 are *very* nice mixers. I don't have the room for an X18 - and the XR18 works so well in the trunk of my car on the way to a live gig...
