Could someone give me a breakdown on how sample clearance works relative to these points:

1 - Will using certain artists vocals vary in cost?
2 - If a big company like Universal or Sony own the rights will they allow
certain different uses, like creating a dance mix?
3 - Are particular rights attached to uses relative to artists's demands? For
instance Prince wanted a 100% if his music was used.
4 - Universal group have bought the rights to many artists music, does
that means they now have control over usage?
