So I just got a new Pigtronix Infinity Looper and I'm wondering if I can set it up to both a metronome and a loop pedal? So if the loop is in midi sync with a metronome it won't go out of time. Cause it has been falling out of time with an external metronome Ive been using on my phone separate from anything. Thank you for any info/advice. ?

Yes, if you sync it to MIDI it will stay in time. There is still a possibility of slight drift depending on your clock source.
not sure how you'd get a midi signal from a phone. you may be able to with a midi interface. but I'm not sure if that would stop the phone producing any audio output, after you did.

Do what you gotta, now. Long term, lose the phone. Fairly capable CPU, but limited I/O options, and it controls you more than you control it, unless you're a Unix guru and superuser.
Android scheduling more problematic than I-Phone.
In the general sense, syncing two clocks is like herding cats. Slave one to another for much better results.
I upgraded the firmware on the Infinity. I had some problems with a different app prior to upgrading the firmware, so I’m not sure if upgrading the firmware was a part of the solution or not. When in doubt, upgrade the firmware.
Power up the infinity.
Connect the midi cable from the infinity midi port to your ios device.
Open up the Metronom app.
In the Metronom app, set Setup > Midi Sync Out > select “iConnectivity” from the pulldown list. If you don’t see if show up, then make sure you didn’t mix up the black and white midi in/out cables on the iConnectivity connector.
On the Metronom app, set the Speed Change Mode (button probably says “loop”) to “fixed”.
Set a tempo on app.
Click Start on the app.
On the Infinity, you should see the Loop 1 LED blink in time. This will tell you that the infinity is receiving the midi clock signal.
Tip: Make sure you open/close your loops *prior* to the measure starting. Don’t do it on the downbeat of the start of the measure. This takes a little getting used to. The cool thing about the Metronom app is that you get a nice visual of which beat you are on, so that helps.
