It's been about 300 pages/5 years since I followed this thread!

Any feedback on AlexB American 16? Or any of his API libraries... I've been on an API kick lately and may (MAY) suffer through Nebula setups/skins if the sound is right.

Also any comparison to the usual suspects -- Pink, UAD, Lindell, Kit is appreciated.

I'm having a strange problem with the gated reverbs in the x90.

The new long version doesn't work for me it just produces a stuttering delay effect for about 2 seconds then cuts off. Same for the standard gated verbs.

Everything else works. Maybe I have some settings to change in N4?

LOL I personally gravitate to the American Visionary Console, but the 1608 is great too. Tons of combo programs too. Beautifully skinned by Azzimov. The SSL AI line from AlexB is a MUST. The man is on fire. Get it all. Step it up man; I can load libraries and my computer and set ups using Chrome Remote Access on my phone 😀

This does seem strange but that’s actually what the unit does. Basically the delays used in that algo are getting spread out to a massive extent. I had a beta tester ask the same thing actually. Will provide more info later.


Edit; the attachments added show a direct impulse from the unit. As you can see the top one is like multiple delays (Random on 20) and the second one is very short and much more reverb like (random on 5) note on the emulation we go up to 19 in increment’s of two

some of the other algorithms are much denser in the first reflections. this , means the delays spread a lot less on size parameter.

Good stuff man. Any recent "how tos" on doing setups with N4.5? Or do the Azzimov docs have it fairly well covered?

Back in the day I was able to create an AU and load it like any other plugin but the creation of it was a minor pita.

The 'length-seconds' slider goes to 19 so i assumed assumed it would be a 19 second reverb tail.

Ah sorry yes the longs go up in steps of 2. I’ll edit my post. The hardware goes up to 20 but honestly I didn’t feel we were losing much on the last tiny increment.

Azzimov has made it a breeze. Drag in his files in the appropriate Nebula repository folder (he has already made the setups), open setups in the Nebula browser, and create your plugin. Rescan and done!

Amazing news from AITB, for M1 Mac users!
Recently, Mirco Reimer and Raphaël Bellamy found a way for Mac M1 users to authorize and use AITB libs on their machines.
I'll quote Mirco's post below:

Our libraries now launch in Reaper, Logic and FLStudio 2024 on M1 without Rosetta—thanks to Nebula Setups! ✨
For now we only tested it with N4.
Please be cautious when replicating this process—make backups of your settings, files and projects first! We assume no liability for any issues that may arise.
How it works:
1️⃣ Create the Nebula Setup under Rosetta:
Launch your DAW in Rosetta mode and open Nebula.
Choose your preferred Nebula configuration and save it as a “Nebula Setup.” under Setups.
Behind the scenes, a background process intercepts this setup and writes out a brand‑new plugin file in x86_64 format, piggy‑backing on Rosetta’s translation layer.
2️⃣ Restart your DAW without Rosetta:
Quit your DAW, disable the “Open using Rosetta” option, and relaunch it normally.
On rescan, Reaper and Logic (and hopefully every other modern DAW (we tested just Reaper, Logic and FLStudio 2024) will spot the freshly created x86_64 Nebula Setup plugin.
The DAW automatically bridges that plugin into your ARM environment—no Rosetta overhead, no fuss.
3️⃣ Enjoy :
Load your Nebula Setup just like any other plugin; no more need of Rosetta.
All our libraries should run (tested with Mammoth and parts or EAR)
This only works because it’s a bridged version of Nebula that taps into the exact same x86_64 code Rosetta normally uses, but in your DAW running without Roesetta.
A huge thank you to Raphaël Bellamy who helped me make this happen—it took a lot of time, but it was worth it.

P.S. Personally, i'm a PC guy, so barely know what this is all about, but i'm guessing this may greatly help for M1 users with not only AITB libs but overall. The key is to use N4 instead of N4.5, with the workaround described by Mirco above. Hope it'll help!

yes it should just say v2, this won't be dated on the zip. Its to keep things more simple when it comes to upload for me, however you should find the update date in readme.

Will installing the Azzimov skins (creating the setups this way) work?

It worked already for some people, afaik.

Have a few questions about using dual mono instances. Maybe I should just email Tim Petherick but I see he's somewhat active, and there are other knowledgeable people around.

1) When using SCS Treble and Bass Power Distortion V2 on a stereo track, it’s noted to use one instance per side. I understand this is something to do with the EVF being mono.. So does this apply only to the distortion module, or do I need separate instances for the preamp, distortion, and power shaper?

2) Don’t have 37J yet, but same question.. Do I need dual instances for the channel module, or just the saturation/comp module? Azzimov has a skin, is the dual instance baked in, or I still need 2?

3) Where does Stomp Comp 1 (version 2, paid for) fall when used on a stereo track? It's awesome for blowing shit up! But I’m not sure if it should be dual mono..
3.5) Can I ask what pedal it is?

i just do whatever sounds good. if it needs dual mono, go for it. if it doesnt, dont.

Like djshiny says, go with what sounds good…..

But technically j37 and treble and bass would.be dual mono if you are trying to get closer to hardware. The compressor is more up to you. It’s based on pedal from in the classic digital reverb and effects era. However this era they kinda got into all types of stomp boxes for guitar.

I had a really nuts idea; you know old tapes you'd bake and play for one last hurrah whilst converting to say digital?
Well I have 45 year old performances that were transferred 15 years ago. The tapes are long gone and i didn't bake them.
But is there a method to make an ITB EZ Bake so they are transformed into that they would have been if they were baked?
