I went from the Iridium to the Quantum MK2. Owning the Iridium I thought it was just a Quantum MK2 on the cheap. Surprisingly not so much.

The addition of the polyphonic aftertouch really makes it a very different and frankly better instrument than the Iridium. It's the same engine, but a much more satisfying experience for a player.

I know Shoebridge did a shoot out of the filters (analog vs digital) and found them similar but eh.... maybe... maybe not.... there are many ways of running many filters - and they are analogue. I do not find myself saying, Oh those darn digital filters are not good. Rather all the filters sound great in its own Waldorf way.

Huh? I have a keyboard version of Iridium. It has poly aftertouch.

P.S. having said that, i find KYRA's filters sound better thn Iridium's. To me, that is.

The only synths I have hooked up right now:
1) Oberheim OB-X8
2) Arturia PolyBrute 12
3) Intellijel Cascadia

Those three really have me wondering why I would want or need anything else.

Korg MS-20

I bust out the prophet and MS-20 from time to time still. OB-6 has been unplugged for a while.

Korg Monotron is fun as heck, deep as fark, and totally unfathomable for a real musician like myself, what with the ribbon interface. So I get my wife to play it, she's very creative. Lots of birdsong, but some Jaco Pastorius worthy bass from time to time. $60!

My Alesis Andromeda is exploding. It's always been dodgy, the knobs/pots need replacing, and the main processor calls in sick every once in a while.

I can't sell it in good faith to anybody, because it's sort of broken. So whatever twist of fate landed this in my hand, I say thank you, because it's like having a second member in the band who has mental health issues. It brings the og glitch to the process. And when it works, aw hells yeah.

Also getting some use out of the Korg Nub-ass. And the Yamaha CPreface piano. And the PAIA Fatman. All really weird, really signature, something different.

But for normal, vsti3, Surge XT.

Prophet 10 rev 4 (just got it and it’s magnificent- never heard pure beautiful tone like this)

Subsequent 37 (do it all mono, stable, maybe the coolest looking synth of all time, I’m also a working bassist, and you see bassists with them on tv and stages everywhere)

Reface CS (Virtual analog, but the simplicity of this little guy is so fun and accessible)
