carloff, are there any pictures of the EMI 337 ribbons you can post? No worries if not. Do they basically look like the RM and HMV models? Very interesting rare mics.

I'm missing something with kind of spheric M50 capsules , and planning Andreas Grossser U49, and pair of Schoeps.
And want just for joy pair of original vintage Elams and for my younger engineers in studio Sony C800

I don’t like the MXL on anything. I got a great deal on the pair years ago. I used one on a poor singer a while back and it sounded ok and on a floor Tom when I didn’t have anything else. It was fine. I need to sell them.

FWIW I checked Chad Kelly's Signal Arts website, and he has a mod to improve the V69ME.

Not sure if I'd ever do that, but just wanted to let you guys know.

I mean there's a song of mine where I used it on vocals and It got a few million streams, so I don't think the mic is that bad. Would I use it again? Probably not, it's been in its case for 5 years now, and the shockmount is broken on it lol.

Electrostatic attraction, since many of the mics are electrostats. Just rub them really hard and fast on your head and stick 'em on the wall.

Ribbons are trickier. Need to use precisely placed rare earth/mars electro inverted polarity magnets on the backside.

Dynamics just pull themselves up the wall dynamically to be with the big boys.

My Warm 47jr arrived. The capsule is "just like" a Neumann.
(Maybe even better)

Whew! Now I can rest easy tonight.
One more potential mic mod for Klaus.

i don't have a lot but i mainly do vocals & overdubs at my studio & then do drum tracking at a friends studio that has ALL the fun stuff! that being said i am itching for a pair of 4038s

As expected the Warm 47jr is a nice sounding vocal mic. With my voice, best on heavy mixes/BGV's.

Looking forward to throwing it on Omni,
in the middle of the room...

To record a small acoustic trio, ala Sun Records,
back in the day. Gotta do some Rockabilly!
