Exhuming slightly old thread... Got a Blackstone (Mosfet Overdrive 2S) about a month ago, and it's taken me that month to get my head fully around it. So many adjustments and mods possible. I haven't swapped out any components (easy to swap out socket-mounted caps), but I have adjusted the internal trim pots. Backed the TRBL some, and also the GN2 trimmer, and the pedal came into focus. It's extremely reactive to the guitar input, pickup type and player attack. I have it adjusted for single-coil, and love, love it, but would need to tweak for a Humbucker pickup guitar.
Back off guitar volume pot a very short twist, and it cleans up beautifully without losing much volume. And with these settings, it allows the character of the guitar to come through.
Beauty is the two channels, Brown and Red Drive. I used to need my Maxon 808 and a Boss OD, but the BSA takes care of it all. Set the Brown for overall "hair" and texture for chording and general lead tones, and Red for screaming sustain (i.e. Santana). Viola! Love this thing and the amazing versatility that Jon Blackstone built in. Well done!
