From my own research, learning and travels, there isn't much you can really do other that keep testing out the final mix in different environments. Without a dedicated treated mixing room, you are usually shooting in the dark and guessing -- and you will be shocked how different your mix will sound in different situations. Haha...I'm with you on the Harmon Karman car system. I had one for 6 months...it was virtually unlistenable!
