I really love my 788T. There are two things that I think would make it even better:

1 - Enhanced Monitoring - Ability to monitor 2 channels MS decoded and pan in 2 or more other channels. Would be useful when using an MS main pair with omni flankers. I realize there are work arounds (I do this with an external splitter and adjust how I use / route inputs), but built in functionality would be nice.

2 - Enhanced iOS App - I use this app on my iPad and love it. With the large screen of the iPad, it's easier to see things and manuever around. Although some functionality of the 788T can be controlled from the iPad, a lot cannot. I'd love if the iOS App provided the ability to access all of the items in the setup menu.

Good Point. I just signed up over on the Sound Devices form and put this post there. I also added a 3rd item.

3 - Soundcard - This is probably harder to do, but if the 788T could function as a USB soundcard, that would be useful too. In my case, if I needed to just record (without overdubs) - I'd just bring the 788T. If I needed to overdub or layer tracks, I'd use the 788T as a front end to a laptop DAW.

Pretty darned low considering what you get in performance, features and build quality. That does not mean that everyone can afford them however.

Good things tend to cost more (except for Reaper of course.)
