The problem is that the light we had so far was just a spot light near the ground, so I couldnt really make that the ceiling was in this state. yesterday with all the lights and specially the back lights on the panels made all the irregularities appear.
But no worries everything will be fixed

Do you want to buy them some panels? They accept individual orders too.

Got the speakers in the control room for a listen.
We now need to study their placement and make a final decision about the ceiling cloud after the measurements.



I definitly need better speaker stands, bought these for my old speakers but are too flimsy for the focals.

Looking good, did you have the sm9's burned in already? They need at least a 50 - 60 burn-in time for both the 3-way and 2-way mode. 100+ hrs even better.

Nope they are not burned in yet. Still doing it. Probably 10 hours only yet and only for the 3 way mode.

Not many updates these days. I hurt my foot and cannot advance in my tasks now.

Need to finish the floor of the control room, measure the speaker response to tune the ceiling panels, the RT60 of the live room, see how many gobos I should get to be able to have some variable acoustics.

Still waiting for the cabling and connectors to arrive. I got a pretty good deal on some Van Damme cables

hey guitarz, good news. if you find a sweet spot in the room, with enough bass trapping, and balanced absorption, the sm9's should come across flat down to about 33 hz! I just finished setting them up with slight adjustments in my room and also a little bit of tweaking of the sm9 eq, half a dB here, 1 dB there.

Sure check out the attachment. After different orientations of my traps,
the monitors themselves, the mix cloud, etc this was my best of all
compromises. As you can see the FR (1/48 smoothing) is +/- 4 dB!! Very solid. The waterF
shows barely any ringing of modes. I am very pleased with this. It took a
lot of work; I mean the optimization of my room started way before the sm9's of course.
Different attempts with other monitors, etc.

Whether that was sarcasm or if he or she literally means you need more
diffusion, I am not so sure that is easy to say just by looking at a picture of the room. Only you can really say what's needed by measuring. Don't forget to post graphs here!

Anxious to test mine after the cloud is in place.
Yesterday I burned a bit more of the SM9s but still got many hours to go.

Of course you are more then right you cant judge sound by the rooms pictures hehe

mate! i was entirely joking. i wouldn't even say i was being sarcastic because that doesn't convey the intended tone.
in my own ridiculous way, i was actually saying - 'goddamm would you look at all those beautifully designed walls; would that i had the knowledge, budget, and scope to design and build such inspiring rooms'.
your studio looks incredible. and yes, you do seem to have ample diffusion - i'm sure it sounds first class in there. may you make much fine music in your new space.

Finally managed to get some photos and show some updates.

The ceiling cloud in the control room is up and running. It was installed so that we can adjust the angles easily.



Passed the multicores to the live room and vocal both.



Also covered the ditch leaving some openings for cable access. After the floor is done the carpenter will make some small covers to easily access them.



Started on the control room floor.
After cleaning thoroughly Layed down the plastic spongy base.



Then started laying down the floor row by row.





All with the help of my Beautifull Girl Friend. Thanks for the help!

Those diffusers look amazing and +1 on the Focals. I love working on those because of their solid bottom end.

Finally soldered the last connectors. After what seemed like forever got all the XRL and DB25 cables soldered and in place to connect all the gear.

Almost ready for rock and roll. Waiting for the studio furniture now.

One of the last finishing bits the HVAC instalation.
Got the brilliant help of Sérgio and Dinis. Well actually Dinis made 90% of the job

We have 2 split units one for the control room



And a bigger 18.000 BTUs for the live room.

Forgot to post these pics of the vocal booth ceiling. Jorge Roque once again did an awesome job. They look great!
