Is an upgrade path from Mixbus 10 available?

Yes!

Customers who purchased Mixbus 10 or Mixbus 10 Plus since January 1 this year will get a FREE upgrade to Mixbus version 11. Pro customers get a FREE upgrade to v11 Pro. Watch your email for your upgrade coupon and offer.

Customers who purchased Mixbus 10, Mixbus 10 Plus, or Mixbus 10 Pro before January 1 will receive an upgrade offer via email.

Will there be upgrade paths for earlier versions as well?

Customers of earlier versions (prior to 10) will need to re-purchase. But I think you will like the new pricing

For $49.99 you're now getting the Harrison 32C EQ, the channelstrip Gate and all 19 of our bundled plugins .... this is equivalent to the old Mixbus->Mixbus32C upgrade, which itself was $149 (or maybe $99 on Black Friday)

For $149.99 you add on the SSL EQ and Dolby Atmos ... very reasonable considering the old (pre-9) Mixbus32C update price was about $99 and had neither of those features.

Are the added SSL EQ and and the Dolby Atmos functionality the only things that differ between the versions?

Yes, the Pro version adds the option to change the channelstrip EQ from Harrison to SSL; and it adds the ability to immersively pan your tracks and export them as a Dolby Atmos - certified .adm file, for self-publishing to streaming music services.

I wanted to check if the version I have is v10 and am astonished to see I had purchased v5

I don't suppose there's an overview of major changes between each version?
I remember I really liked a lot about Mixbus but a few annoyances kept me from ever using it.

The manual has a summary of changes. It only goes back to v6, but that works in your case

Looks like a nice upgrade, but I'm not seeing a huge leap from v10 Pro to v11 Pro. The 9 to 10 update was *huge* IMO.... this 10 to 11 update seems underwhelming by comparison. I will keep an eye on it though... perhaps a future upgrade discount will tempt me. Right now it doesn't seem like $110 is worth the new features for me, personally.

BTW, thanks for sticking with Linux. I started doubting you would continue to support it after the SSL takeover.

I´ll pass this one, waiting for the next version, I like to see more stability and better CPU handling.

@ uarte : I highly encourage you to try the demo. We didn't add as many new 'capabilities' as v10 did, but the way you can access things is greatly improved. I think you'll be surprised.

Thanks, Ben, I appreciate the response, and I will consider it. For now, I honestly think an upgrade discount of only $40 for long-time users is a bit ungenerous, considering the new features on paper. Granted, I haven't tested the improved accessibility you describe yet and perhaps it's worth it. But if you think of the quantum leap from v9 to v10 pro, which was maybe the best update you've offered in years, this one seems pretty thin by comparison, at least on paper IMO.

But again, I'll keep an eye on it, and look more closely at the workflow improvements you mention, probably test it at some point, and I do appreciate you guys. And like I mentioned, I'm happy you're still supporting Linux so that's always a plus for me.

I can't get rid of the impression that the this update was rushed, even the promotional video uses the same shots as 10.
Nevertheless, congratulations on the release anyway.

Any improved compatibility and capabilities with the sister company’s flagship controllers, the SSL ‘U’ line (UF1 UF8 UC1)? I was highly disappointed with the v10 Pro aspects with these controllers.

And wasn’t it exactly a year ago that version 10 launched?!? And you want me to pay another $110 to upgrade to 11? That feels like a subscription model to me…

Very soured by this 11 release instead of fixing v10

The way Microsoft keeps bloating up Windows, the more pluses to using Linux for a DAW, imo.

I didn’t mind the upgrade fee each year because it felt like I was supporting a small business. Now it’s literally SSL (or whoever owns them)

Question on the new midi piano roll: If several midi tracks are selected do they all appear on the same piano roll?

I bought mixbus way back at v1 or 2 before settling on Reaper. At that time, mixbus workflow felt clunky.

While I continue to love Reaper, I will always be intrigued by mixbus because the built-in mixer imparted a mix-ready tone before plugins. I've not experienced this in other DAWs (I realize that is a design choice and not a shortcoming of other DAWs-but it differentiates mixbus in the market). I'm going to give the demo a whirl!

Can someone confirm were they resolve GUI problems in v11 ? I think that would be best improvent than anything else.

I'm still on version 9. The SSL UF1 integration was important for me.

I never got notifications for version 10. Although I asked for it. In hindsight, it's alright. Version 9 is actually all I need. Needless to say that I didn't get a notification for version 11. Longtime customers since version 2 or 3 are not listed anymore. Whatever. Version 9 is great.

I don't think is too much fair the upgrade of $110(plus tax in Europe) for Mixbus10 Pro owners. I will pass

What is the situation with those plugins on Linux? I seem to remember that some plugins are no longer offered as a Linux version.

"New “machine locked” licensing
Mixbus now requires that you enter an authorization token, which will ‘authorize’ the machine, and tell you how many authorizations remain for that token. You must be online to authorize a machine.

Currently, your Mixbus purchase comes with 2 authorization tokens, while Mixbus Pro provides 3 authorization tokens."

Is there a way to give those tokens back or are they just used up?

When you make changes to your machine that invalidate a token, will it re-activate when you change your machine back, or do you have to call Harrison and wait?
