Acon Digital releases Verberate – for Realistic Simulation of Acoustical Spaces

I don't mind the Valhalla GUIs I just had a hard time getting a realistic room ambience out of VRoom without artificial/metallic sounding overtones. Not to say it can't be done b/c I am far from an expert! But comparing the ambience presets to some of the rooms in Verberate I immediately thought Veberate was more natural and realistic sounding and blended the mix together better. I honestly didn't know what I was looking for until I heard Verberate and compared it to VRoom and was like oh yeah that's the sound! Very subtle but adds depth and air and warmth without sounding at all like an effect. At the same time I found it easier to use than convolution/impulse reverbs based on my limited experience with some freeware (ReaVerb, SIR1).

As for Valhalla Vintage vs Plate, I would just try both they are both cool and I like both better than Room. My understanding is that Vintage is modelling some old digital outboard gear from the 80s while Plate is modelling a real plate. For my style and use of verb (rock and roll, not alot of long verbs) the Plate just appeals to me more but I have found some very cool sounds in Vintage as well.

Anyway Acon Verberate is great I highly recommend it! For me, multitracking my own songs it really helps to create the illusion of a band playing together in the same room. Then I just add a bit of Plate to snare and vocals, maybe guitar and pianos for a little extra something. Again I am far from an expert so take that FWIW

Going to demo this guy. Now, on paper, I can only say it has the most intelligent : practical gui and covers every early flavours.

Only thing not so top is the EQ, you can't tweak it easly. No problem for me I put one before on send's insert.

The second box on the right (the one on bottom right) has two crossover one on left and one on right. I find not very intuitive to tweak the second one. With that horizontal line popping-up.

Thanks -- yes, we actually moved the handle down to the center in our EQ plug-in (Equalize) -- that's probably more intuitive... We'll probably do the same when we update Verberate next time.

This is certainly my favorite for a natural reverb which is very easy and fast to work with. I prefer this over Phoenixverb on many situations, it has a great potential for becoming a Nimbus alternative with some feature updates. Would love too see it being developed further, any cool updates coming?

I was just playing with NI The Giant and I happened to try Verberate's "Dreamy long piano hall" preset with it. All I can say is wow, what a beautiful sound! Verberate is a very transparent reverb but this shows it can do some really nice longer reverbs also.

I have a dream of surprising my dad on his 70th birthday by composing a song just for him. I think that even though he listens to classical music he also likes analog synths. I remember him calling into a local radio station and asking them to play a synth version of some song by Bach. Unfortunately they refused to grant my father his wish because the idea was too radical for them. I don't remember what terms they used, but I do remember my father's dissapointment because he has told me this story so many times. So I am planning to do something that has both traditional sounds and also analog synths.

I will be using Verberate for the piano sound as it's just perfect for my tastes. Impressing my dad is going to be hard for me because I produce mostly psytrance and other aggressive styles of electronic music. Our tastes in music is pretty much the opposites and it doesn't help that I am not the world's best keyboard player. Anyways, I am happy to have Verberate in my virtual toolbox to help me out when I need it the most. While it won't write the melodies for me, it will help me achieving the piano sound I hear in my head. Now back to practice my playing skills!

That's also my favorite preset for piano, Pianoteq sounds alive through that. Many great transparent but musical presets as well, especially when Phoenix sounds boring. Hopefully the next update will come with more creative presets.

It sure is strange how many people are so narrow minded when it comes to music, and some of these people are actually musicians by themselves. I am a electronic music guy who obviously loves synths and music made with them, but yesterday I started learning how to play electric guitar. Now I can be a bad keyboards and even worse guitar player :D All instruments are good and useful for something, even accordion, which can be used as a torture device to get criminals confess their crimes :D

This can be had for under $25 for a couple days

I like verberate and bougth it, but it's a cpu hog, it's really unfortunate that i can't use it without crackles in pro tools with a buffer of 128 or 256

That’s strange. I’ve never had such issues with it. However, I’m using it in Logic. I have Pro Tools as well. I’ll see if I can test it there (won’t be for a while though).

Thanks for making such a great reverb plug-in. Bought it the other day and have been methodically A-B’ing it with my other verbs in all my current mixes and it’s winning in almost every instance.

Not sure what kind of wizardry is going on under the hood but it’s extremely musical and barely nudging the CPU meter in PT 11 on my old Mac 3.1. Gonna have to check out your other offerings now. You’ve made my job easier and I am grateful!
