Introducing Martinic’s newest instrument plugin and first full synthesizer. It’s an emulation of the original AX73, enhanced with elements of the AX60 and AX80 synths plus extra additional features.



You get two full synth layers – two AX73s that can be split across the keyboard or played together as one. Each layer has two oscillators (plus 2x sub and noise), a filter, four LFOs, four envelopes and an arpeggiator.

I like the sound.

I would prefer if the controls on the front page were larger. They could easily take up the space of the picture. Then I could read them more easily.

It would be nice if all the presets in a bank were visible after clicking in the center of the name of the current preset.

It would be nice if double clicking on a preset immediately brought me back to the opening page so I could click on the keys without having to click on the KEYS icon again.

The above may seem a bit silly but I'm demoing. I really like the sound but I'm getting a bit frustrated with the preset management side of things.

Is the GUI resizable? Because I can't find the option.

I enjoyed being on the beta-test team for Martinic's AX73. With each update, I became more and more excited. The original hardware model had a unique sound in comparison to the other analog synths released during that time period. Sadly, it was not very popular . . . probably overlooked and overshadowed by all the other offerings at the time. Yet, years later there has been more appreciation for the AX73. I never owned the original Akai model, but I have heard it . . . Martinic has done an amazing job of recreating and possibly improving on some of the original's quirky flaws. ;-) This fine emulation has its own flavor and vibe compared to other VSTis. I'll definitely be using this on upcoming tracks . . . it simply sounds great!

With UVX670 we're heading back in time to the '80s to deep-dive, layer and combine sounds from two unique, underrated analog gems from Japanese synthmaker Akai; the VX600 and the AX73.

Apparently not, unfortunately.

I find the interface to be clean, efficient, and pleasing. It's a nice size on my iMac, but having smooth scaling or incremental, i.e., 50%, 75%, 100%, 125%, 150% would be sweet. Perhaps this is something Martinic will consider for future updates.

Would be nice to have an option, it's pretty tiny on my screen and hard to see some of the settings.

I bought the license. AX73 sounds fabulous.

However, if I may, I'd like to make a few suggestions - in order of priority.

- It would be very helpful if presets could be selected via QWERTY keyboard. Diva or LuSH-101 can do this, for example. It helps immensely with auditioning presets.

- In Logic, when I save a preset as an aupreset, the Gui jumps back to the "Keys" view - every time. That's a bit annoying.

- The Settings/master section should retain its settings across all presets, in particular polyphony.

- Resizable GUI would be nice, it is currently rather small.

- I'd love to have another keyboard view with only the sliders but without the background.

Other than that, congratulations on the release of a fine instrument.

An option to lock certain parameters when browsing through presets would be nice, but this shouldn't be the default behaviour.

Their other plugins are like this. I believe the settings view is intended for editing and programming sounds. The keyboard view is a wallpaper screen.

This is a fine sounding synth with nice effects. I wish it had a stereo audio input so I could route audio into it.

But the filter env depth knob goes from 0-100 , a value between 0-50 inverts the envelope behaviour ( even when invert swich is set to off) .
So my suggestion is , change the gui of env.depth knob so it 's bipolar with a clear middle section .

I used to have an AX60 and the plugin's vibe is not very far from the original.

We have released an update today. The visual feedback on the save button is much needed. This was requested by one of our sound designers Jam El Mar (Jam & Spoon) and how can we refuse

Hey, I still use FM8 and Z3TA+2, so you don't need to sell me on the GUI issue. @ martinic seems super-responsive; kicking myself for missing out on the intro price. I really do love these small developers, especially those like martinic who have a "Yes, and..." design philosophy.

In any event, it looks like System broke out the Raid Troll-B-Gone, so back to our regular scheduled programming...

Maybe there will be a Black Friday sale
