• Accent now supports all major plug-in formats: AAX, VST2, VST3, and Audio Units
• Added an all new playback algorithm for even more realistic performances
• Grooves can now be set to half time, double time, dotted, triplet, or double triplet feels
• Accent has been streamlined and optimized to improve start-up times and overall performance
• Platinum Samples have updated their groove libraries for Accent. Existing owners will find them in their Platinum Samples user account*

Here is an audio demo of Galaxy Drums inside of Accent 1.0.2. The beat is from our updated groove library and was a simple drag and drop into the timeline. Accent 1.0.2 and the groove library is a free update to all existing users.

Guys, I think this sale is a no-brainer. I am not affiliated with them, I just want to spread awareness as I really dig the engine and the sounds.

I am really picky when it comes to drum VSTs. I have used many different Drum VIs over time and I find each one has an area where it excels. Superior Drummer has an awesome User Interface and it's quite stable. On the other hand, I've always preferred the actual sound of the libraries available for BFD. For a while, the best compromise I found was using Evil Drums within Superior Drummer. For the longest time I wished Platinum Samples (PS) had continued to release libraries for superior Drummer...

A year ago I found out that PS were building their own drum instrument. I had to try it so I bought Ocean Way Drums which shipped with their new player. My first impression of Accent was that it blends some of the best features of the two popular VIs I mentionned previously but also has features that are unique such as the ability to mix using your favourite plugins right within the instrument. CPU consumption is also the lowest of any drum VI I have ever used which is a plus for me as i like to track with very low buffer settings.

It wasn't until a year ago when Platinum Samples partnered with Space Cabin Audio to release Galaxy with a refined version of Accent that I really started using it in earnest. I decided to buy “Galaxy Drums" partly out of curiosity and mostly to have more drums for Accent, not really knowing what to expect from these guys. Usually drum libraries are aimed at a specific genre: metal, rock,indy, or a specific producer's sound. What I found when I loaded up the kits was simply amazingly detailed drums with just the right weight and character that sounded good in my mixes right away.

It was the first time I could load up a drum groove and just start playing guitar or bass and say, "this sounds like real drummer is playing along with me". The weight, the dynamics, the character just fits my sound (I like garage rock but it can fit any type of rock, pop or metal). I have never heard a hihat that I found this convincing. You could literally draw in a beat with each hit at the same velocity and you would not get the machine gun effect because of all the round robins included and the efficiency of the playback engine. Evil Drums finally has a contender and I do not say this lightly.

I reached out to Space Cabin Audio (SCA) to share my enthusiasm and was happy to hear that SCA & PS have BIG plans for Accent. Not just in terms of content, but features as well. I can't wait to see what they have in store.

We are currently working on new libraries but I can not say the location as I am sure you can understand

Our next library will be "Desert Drums" and will be released in quarter four of this year. It's a very unique library. We recorded two vintage Rogers kits from the 60's with some VERY vintage cymbals. These are extremely dry drums. Think "Queens of the Stone Age meets The Meters"

The market has been asking for something like this so we decided to deliver. It's an amazing sounding library and as usual, we sampled the living the sh*t out of the drums. Some say we took it too far. I however disagree.

Of course, our company policy is that once you buy into our product, you will get the lowest price we will ever offer on launch of a new library. For instance, with Galaxy we have updated the groove library adding over 400 grooves to it at no charge to existing users. This means that existing Galaxy owners will get an amazing price on an amazing product when it's launched.

I can't recommend this library enough. After coming from the competition, the load times are insane and being able to use 3rd party plugins directly in the mixer interface is AMAZING! No more bouncing out tracks to mix them

Of course, the samples themselves are out of this world. Super punchy kicks, slap you in the face snares, thundering toms and the most realistic and reactive cymbals I've ever heard!

The new release of 400 grooves is also a killer add on as sometimes you just want to get up and running really quickly without programming it all from scratch. Make sure to check out the slider in the grooves library and slide it towards "lazy" (I think it's called lazy, perhaps it's "loose") - you're welcome.

For 99 bucks you'd be crazy not to scoop it up!

I can only seem to find demos where the drums are hyper compressed, especially on the hardest hits. Is that some kind of processing within the player, or is that baked into the samples? Sounds a lot like V-drum module sounds or sometimes even the stock drum on an old JV-1080. I'm definitely not against processing drums to tape, this is just a VERY specific sound. Just wondering if there's somewhere I can hear the samples without the super aggressive compression? Seems like a really great deal on a great player with plenty of samples so I'd love to grab it if the drums prove to be more flexible than the demos I'm hearing.

While Galaxy is a processed library, we are currently looking at releasing 2 versions of our next library. One like Galaxy aimed at songwriters who just want to get to work quickly, and another one that is aimed at engineers with full bleed and no processing. I can't say if we will go ahead with it until we make a final decision. Stay tuned...

While I can't say anything about what Platinum Samples plans to do as we licence Accent from them, the update to Accent 1.0.2 has the best discount ever. It's free. You just have to log into your Platinum Samples account, or if you own Galaxy Drums, log into your Space Cabin Audio account and the downloads are there for you to get.

How well does this pair up with edrums, like a Yamaha DTX 700 module? As an SSD5.5 owner I find the hats to be the least accurate as far as triggering goes especially for a heel down player like me who usually keeps the clutch low.

Accent pairs quite well with the Yamaha E-Kits. Below is a video we just did with the DTX-900. We did some edits for some miss-hits, but overall, this was a live performance from the drummer.

Accent ships with maps for the DTX kits as well, and can be tweaked either from the drum brain or inside of Accent to get it to play how you would like it.

We have also lowered our prices by 50% to help people who want to make music throughout the crazy times the entire world is going through right now.
