Z&H Designs Releases V560 Graphic EQ | American Style 500 Series Module
by Z&H Designs
17th June 2024
The V560 is built to work & sound exactly like its classic counter part in the 60s-70s. This was accomplished by not only the same 10-band & 500-series configuration, but also the replica of discrete circuit.
It takes very little gain on V560 to spice up and bring your track to the front. If you long for the exciting, powerful, golden record drums and guitar, you may have found the best entry-point analog outboard. In our own commercial studio, we stack a row of V560 to record drums through, to entice anything for the genre, and sometimes to just get inspired.

- Discrete analog circuit.
- 10 bands with musical frequency.
- Β±12 dB capability.
- Strong and spicy.
- Great for sound carving.
A proud modern-day classic
We developed original components for V560 - for example, the Z-2503 Output Transformer (which is available for sale separately) and the H-2520 Op Amp. The goal of replicating the original sound requires synchronisation of all parts on the discrete circuit board, and it was better to have control over those key components to make meaningful adjustments. After years of trials & errors, the result is undistinguishable from the original in many set ups. The overall resolution is improved, too.
The less gives you more
V560 has all the beauty of an analog graphic EQ. All you do is to play the gain fader, Q reactions and other magics will happen for you.
You could easily tell the wide range of Q behind, which gives you a carving knife at heavy gain/cut. You could also try a small amount, which tends to be intuitive - a slight boost at 1-2k Hz on guitar is enough to consolidate its texture.
And of course, if you only want the original harmonic distortion, it gets you covered.
Handcrafted & verified by human, for human.
Before it gets shipped, 2 real mixing engineers will test it and sign their names, so will every craftsman who participated in the making. Boutique-grade craftsmanship makes no effort in producing many.
