Goodhertz v3.0 update for Windows and Mac — VST support added!

I can not say enough good about these. Goodhertz is the most interesting plugin developer out there.

They just have a really fascinating blend of old school analog and modern digital possibility.

Windows users: Get Lohi. Put it on a bass, and bring the saturation/limit up. Or just use their "fliptop amp" preset. Then put the fliptop amp preset on drums, and move the slider up to 5 khz. Smile!

Or get "Wow Control" and just use it for tape sounds. With a subtle wow and flutter. Then vary the wow and flutter randomly. Or try the "two drummers' preset. Or the "cassette" preset if you want to.

Or get Trem control, which is just the world's best trem plugin.

The Vulf Comp is like no other out there--with snappy fast transients if you want or slow hold, and all the "analog" you'd ever want


Really, these have bumped most other plugins off my chain. I us all of them all the time except can opener and lossy. those I just use sometimes

Clean interface, no fake wear or imitation knobs. Innovative and clever. Great sounding.

My favorite plugins. Great tools and toys, some of them with fantastic saturation. Excellent update!

I'm very surprised and happy at the turn of events. I've wanted to try out Goodhertz products, but I'm a Windows kind of guy so it's very pleasing to see your products available for PC as well. Gonna have to try em out!

Long awaited indeed for Win users

All i can say about these plugins after testing them a few days ago before this release:

Beautifully crafted / Sonically amazing / Rich -warm sounding plugins / Very musical / Very CPU friendly & on top of that FUN to use. The kind of plugins that inspires you while working instead of distracting your workflow. Goodhertz Team should be very proud to bring this great bundle to Win formart.

A must have bundle period.

Hey, so nice to see the updates, but will you be updating the Canopener iOS app at any point? It was one of my favorites, but it hasn't worked in over a year. I couldn't find any mention of it on your website. Kinda disappointed that it seemed to be discontinued without any notice to the customers who paid for it...

Okay, I'm extremely impressed! These are exactly as impressive as everybody has always said they are. Holy moly!! I'll have to get them all eventually.

Pulling up old sessions with V2 Goodhertz plugins won't be affected by the update? It will keep the same settings and sound?

Goodhertz' and Airwindows' plugins being Mac only were my main reasons for not switching to Windows. Been a long time coming, but now that both of these companies support Windows, I'll try to make the switch. Indispensable.

Your old sessions will still have the version two plugins running. V. 3 did not replace v 2 on my system, it ran alongside it

Hi there, unfortunately we don't currently have plans to update the iOS CanOpener app. For what it's worth, we didn't discontinue it; Apple just crippled it with almost every major iOS update.

Apple made a series of changes that made it harder and harder for us to provide a high-quality music listening experience on iOS: they changed the hardware devices to not support 44.1 kHz playback (which meant 99% of tracks required sample rate conversion, draining the battery and lowering the fidelity), they removed the headphone jack (which we used for super accurate dB SPL measurements), and they never opened up music streaming to 3rd party apps for processing (we received dozens of emails per day asking for this feature).

I’m sorry that we don't have better news. If anything changes on Apple's end that would improve the situation at all, we would absolutely consider updating it. For now, it's just not possible to do something that we could be proud of.

Just to confirm: v2 & v3 plugins can be co-installed without any issues with session recall, etc

Cool! I love the Vulf and Lohi, I use them on almost every mix. Keep rockin' it.

The new mousewheel support makes this plugins a joy to use. The sound is spectacular, there are many mixing plugins but these are more like music plugins; fun, easy to use and lots of character. Vulf Compressor and Lossy really can change the direction of the music.
Congrats on the v3 release, just waiting for that v3 intro sale! .

The unsung hero is Panpot.. if you're mixing a boatload of stereo tracks, the lifelike panning is indispensable. Also TremControl does that Fender tremolo spot on.

Man, how often do these go on sale? I'm seriously considering purchasing the lot but that's quite a big plash of cash right there for me at this moment.

I don't think they ever do sales, except they discount if you buy more than one.


One of the many great things about these plugins, and it sounds odd to say, is that they have a sense of humor. Like instead of obsessively focusing on whether it sounds exactly like a hardware Distressor, you get to focus on doing fun stuff to audio. You can "analog up" a track without feeling like you are fighting your way past the CLA boundary layer. There's no "oh now we are exactly imitating that 1176 that used slot head machine screws on the face panel." Instead you get Lohi, with resonant filter sweeps that are also saturating limiters.

I'm having trouble articulating it but there's just a different sensibility at work. rather than imitate specific tape machine (it's exactly like the tape machine in the bedroom of CLA's second vacation house!), WowControl is sort of "what does tape do? Can we do more of it? Or just this one part of it?" It's liberating: you get the value of the past without the mental slavery.

If I had to offer a criticism it would be the "high quality" button. I end up using it all the time, which bumps up the CPU use. I kind wish it wasn't there, because then I would not feel obliged to use it.

Not very often from what I remember. I think I’ve bought most at full price, but have received coupons via beta testing. They are so good it’s one of those companies I can’t resist. Try using Wow cntrl as a standard tape sim via the mastering preset .

Thanks for this post! Pretty cool to see that what we're thinking about while designing the plugins seems to translates to users.

We do often start with some hardware that we love or find interesting, but the development doesn't ever stop at "okay, we made a perfect copy of this hardware from 1970." We're always interested in pushing it further or adding functionality that could have never existed in the hardware. That's more or less what happened with Vulf Compressor, Trem Control, and Wow Control — they all have some analog hardware roots, but they ended up in a pretty different place. Anyhow, glad you like 'em!

You definitely should not feel obligated to always use it, especially if you're already working at the sampling rate above 48k. It's mostly useful in situations where you might be creating a lot of harmonics (Wow Control, Vulf Compressor, etc).

I currently trying the demo of CanOpener Studio V3 in conjunction with SonarWorks individual profile... for the moment i'm really impressed a lot

These plugins is a must, Vulf is one of the best comps out there as well as the Faraday limiter.
