Uli must be unhappy with their Klark version's sales lol. The Klark admittedly to me is actually better than a Triton for 30 quid. What is this going to cost to undercut the Klark for a new market segment, a fiver?

To be fair, you copied the Cloudlifter concept and put it in a smaller package, so… It’s all good. Inspiration all around.

BTW, I do respect a lot of what you all are doing. FetHead Phantom is actually innovative, the discontinued D20 mic preamp is a very tight, sleek, and a cute execution of concept, and your well over-engineered True Phantom is strong indication that you all care about certain things from a fundamental level. It’s also very apparent that you have good graphic and industrial designers on board, which Behringer definitely does not employ, for whatever reason. Aaanyway- kudos on trying to make a positive difference with your attention to detail and efforts, and be assured that such efforts have not gone unnoticed by those who care. Keep rocking it.

Actually the FetHead was a little earlier. But not yet well known at that time.

Is this any different than their KT one?

Wow yeah. A quick search and it looks like the original Fethead launched in 2008 and Cloudlifter was late 2009 or 2010.

According to their specs another 2dB of gain over the KT CT 1 and KT CM-1.

To make things worse - looks like it's 6 months or so from being in stock anywhere. Behringer is basically trying to kill all similar products sales and pave the way for their Chinese knockoff. And some people still wonder why there's no R&D investments left in this industry.

Well, I don't think people are going to wait 3 months and not buy anything else just because of this announcement - Hell, they already make two similar products branded as Klark Teknik. But it is rather perplexing why they'd announce what is a trivial product so far in advance of availability - given that there's quite a few alternatives - the usual ones along with the knockoffs like the SE dynamites.
Aren't you more angry with Music Store releasing their Famehead - they even almost nicked your name! At least they carry the Triton Fetheads as a product line I guess as some compensation.

LOL, I totally missed the Famehead. Holy crap. I'm speechless!

It has a 40k input impedance. Better than just about any of the 30 or 40 others out there except the Triton which I believe is over 70k input impedance. These very high impedances do indeed affect the response and performance of your ribbons, with the higher the better.
